That's an AI. Computer's are very efficient, and their overall strategy isn't that bad, but their battlefield tactics are completely incompetent, comprised of basically one word: charge. You can't record replays of campaign missions. The strategy is very simple though: Wraiths. Red in particular has very few Missile turrets. Go in cloaked, take out the single ComSat first, and you're virtually impervious to take them down at your leisure. I annihilated red with 7 Wraiths once.

Mac, you should put some more replays up soon. Also, you should add a link to your starcraft page in your sig.

I have played some multi in the last few days, and when it comes to protoss, all I can say is: Carriers kick ass. Get 4-5 carriers and reaver, and you can wipe out (with proper ground support, to taken out a few spore colonies) an entire zerg base. It is great fun.

I would be playing starcraft all night tonight, but I have been blowing off homework for the last few days and it has come back to bite me in the ass. I better get back to work....

Actually, I did an experiment once. My ally and I each sent out 12 carriers and batlecruisers respectively so I could prove to him they were better. I still had 8 of mine left when his last carrier was dust. Ares, what's your bnet screenname? Might it be possible if we could play against some computers so you can see what I mean?

Given the terrazo gun and the lack of an arbriter (sp), sure carriers are nothing next to battlecruisers. I keep 2-3 arbirters around to keep my carriers safe. Battlecruisers are good for wiping out thin defences very quickly so you can move in a strike force, but when it comes to anihilating an entire base, a carriers is your best bet. But that is only when you have around 10 of them full of fighters and you can make sure they stay cloaked.

Boy - I wish I had Starcraft! Obviously it is available for the Mac, but what are the requirements? How much is it? Where can I get it? When you think of fuzzy animals and teddy bears does Starcraft come into your mind?

If you said no to that last question, please explain why. My father would not appreciate any blood-splattering games on our hard drive, but this game sounds so cool. I love strategy and even though I'd probably be toasted by every single person in this bar, it still sounds really cool. So please tell me more about it!

well, it is rated teen because of the blood, but that's really the only part parents might find objectionable about it. maybe there is a demo version at blizzard's webpage? I don't know as I've never used it, but it's worth a shot.

Starcraft is dirt cheap these days. I got the battlechest (if you are going to get it, get the battlechest) for $16 on ebay with $7.50 for shipping, bringing me a total of $23.50 for a once $100 package. My friend got it for $16 total, but there was no box and the cd was scratched.

I highly suggest getting the battlechest off ebay. It is also worth it to buy a copy that is new (mine was still shrinkwrapped) so you can insure it is high quality. My friend could not even install his because the disk was scratched. I had to loan him my CD.

Bloosplattering? There is some. It is no horribly gorry, however. It is not like 1st person shooters where you point a gun at someones head and look at their faces and they scream at you. There are little guys (like ants) walking around who get killed, and it just turns them into a splotch on the ground. If you parents find this game unnacceptable, you should look into adoption.

Teddy bears? No. On a totally unrelated note, since I got this game I have found myself dreaming of starcraft every night. Not fond memories or anything like that, but I vividly imagine beating missions I have problems with and stuff like that. It is very strange. It is such an involving game.... It takes hours just to play one mission.

Anyways, I highly suggest it. It is low enough in complexity that it is fun for newbies, and challenging enough to send even the best playins into temper tantrums. Ebay, ebay, ebay.
