Come on people. There's more than 6 people who contribute to this story. These guys are starting to run out of ideas. We need new ideas flowing into the story. Don't make me name names around here

Hardslab walked down a few corridors and then found the command and breifing room. As he walked in, Hardslab saw Bob, Riprock, and Stud Beefpile all looking over a system map. Three Phoenix major captains were there (i.e. Major captain is just a high up kind of captain in the Phoenix navy), along with a Phoenix admiral.
"Okay, here is the situation: The Cerebrus and Tiamat are engaged in a deadlock war. Neither side gaining any advantage. However, it does appear the Cerebrus may be winning now with their Confed friends. The Cyclops and Titan factions have united and are attempting to defend themselves against the Cerebrus, which have launched an offensive against them. Right now that part of the border is in shambles. The Cerebrus have thrusted into Titan and Cyclops territory too quickly, and now it seems they are about to be surrounded. Now the Cerebrus are trying to reorganize and make a counterattack, which the Titan and Cyclops may not survive.
"Another problem is the Phoenix border. They just do not have enough ships to confront the Cerebrus offensive against them. Right now their only strongholds are at Gammera Etticar, manned by two fleet squadrons (8 ships per fleet squadron), which is commanded by Major Captain Kavor right there.
"The second stronghold is at Delta Omicron V, which has 3 fleet squadrons, in other words one elite squadron, commanded by Major Captain Derreh, sitting next to you. The fourth stronghold is Gelledos I, manned by 1 fleet squadron and an elite fighter squadron of 10 fighters. This is commanded by Captain Jakk, sitting across from you, Hardslab. Gelledos I is in danger of being surrounded by 5 small Cerebrus fleet squadrons, making 20 ships in all. Gelledos I is in the middle of the two other bases, and would compromise them if it was overrun. We must not allow this to happen," Riprock said.
"Hardslab," said the Phoenix admiral. "Gelledos's only hope is you and another Phoenix fleet, commanded by me, Admiral Dashvor. I can't get to Gelledos in time. You can. I want you to take as many ships as you can get and move out to Gelledos as fast as you can. Leave today if you can manage it. I can only give you 2 Phoenix cruisers to go along with your Rebel warships. Unfortunately Revzan can't help you. He and Vastron left to go help the Titan and Cyclops. Good luck! And, as you humans say, godspeed!"

As you lift off you see some ships come out of hyperspace to the left of your ship. Suddenly a transmition comes on the front screen.
"Hello, Captain Hardslab! Remember me!," the being slurs out.
He looks human but mutated. His right side of his face has been remade on his face into a hideous scowl. He has an eye modulator in his right eye.
"Well don't you remember the battle? The one I lost?," it blurts out.
Then it hits you.
General Sergei Markolov.
Your face drops.
"Yeah the Cerubrus have fixed me up real good. And now I'll fix you up."
Just then you see a beam of massive proportions charge up, and fire towards you.
"I'm gonna kill you with the ship that killed me. Hah Hah."

Hardslab thought to himself "What ship? What gun? What did I do?" His thoughts were cut short as the beam hit his ship, the R.S.S. Vengeance. The huge vessel shuddered as the beam blasted away 10% of its shields. Hardslab then identified the vessel that was attacking him: A Cerebrus cruiser. "Great" Hardslab said to himself.
Suddenly, another alien ship hyperspaced in: A Titan Heavy Cruiser! Hardslab heard the Titan say something to the Cerebrus ship over the comlink: "Weirdo". The two alien ships immediately engaged in battle. The Cerebrus ship was caught off guard, but was better shielded and armed than the Titan Heavy Cruiser. Hardslab realized that he should help, so he maneuvered the Vengeance towards the battle, firing off torpedoes.
The torpedoes smashed into the Cerebrus ship, making it turn towards the Vengeance. The Titan vessel used this to fired its fusion beam into a weak spot in the shields of its opponent. The Cerebrus vessel attempted to return fire, but its weapons were blasted off line as the Titan ship hit it again with its heavy fusion beam. Within a few seconds, the Cerebrus ship disintigrated.
The Titan ship immediately hailed Hardslab. "Hi Hardslab!" the captain said in a familiar voice.
"Revzan!" Hardslab shouted.
"Nice seeing you again! Lucky thing I was able to get back here when I did! You might be wondering what that Cerebrus weirdo was talking about."
"Uh, yes I was wondering about that," Hardslab replied.
"Well, it goes like this: The Cerebrus were attempting to make a duplicate of Sergei. And, well, it went haywire! Their clone (only 1/4 transformed) went nuts and grabbed a Cerebrus cruiser, thinking that he was a ressurected Sergei (when he was just a clone), and that he was to kill you. Really nuts. Anyway, I came here to tell you that I will be able to come along with you one your way to Gelledos I. I'll be able to stay there for a while, but I'll have to eventually leave."
"Okay," Hardslab replied. "Lets go!"

Sorry Captain Carnotaur. I don't mean to disappoint you but at (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/000762-2.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...L/000762-2.html(/url) near the bottom of the page there is a post from Kryptauros. It's just above Begemotikes "It's Not Fair" post. You should read it very carefully. Look at what ship Markolov gets on. Also look at what ship blows up.
Just a thought

-Okay I modified my post
The trip to Gelledos I was dangerous. Hardslab and Revzan ran into three different skirmished between the Phoenix and the Cerebrus, and he was very careful to avoid them. Soon, they reached Gelledos I.
The planet had been bombarded by the Cerebrus for months. The Phoenix were just barely able to maintain the base there. At the moment they arrived, two Phoenix cruisers were trying to protect two Centaur transports and three Titan transports, from two other Cerebrus cruisers. The Phoenix ships were outmatched, so Hardslab and Revzan immediately opened fire on the Cerebrus ships. As several torpedoes slammed into one of the Cerebrus vessels, a small Rebel fleet hyperspaced into the system. This was the fleet Hardslab had brought along to help protect Gelledos I.
Suddenly, another huge vessel hypered into the system right next to the Vengeance. It was another Rebel Dreadnaught! The transponder identified it as the "R.S.S. Avenger". Hardslab remembered. It was another dreadnaught that had been under construction when they left Rebel space. Suddenly, the Avenger hailed the Vengeance. Hardslab stared at the viewscreen; it was Sergei!! Impossible! Sergei had been killed!! "Hello Rick Hardslab. I bet your wondering how I could be here, and here's the answer: I was able to eject in a small escape pod that crashed on Spica without being detected. I had to stay there until a Rebel scout team found me. And now i'm back! And now i'll help you with defending Gelledos I! Now lets get those Cerebrus!"

I am new here so excuse any mistakes in the plotline I may have missed.
Has anyone noticed that we have tons of posts but no title yet?
--------------------------------------------------
The two ships requested clearance to land and were granted it. Rick Hardslab neared the planet and began the descent into the atmosphere. The heat sheilds, vastly improved since the days of chemical rockets, made this no big deal.
Once inside the spaceport Rick and Rezvan were greeted with chaos. Everyone was rushing around and being confused about the upcoming attack. No one on Gelledos I knew anything about when it would happen. They could only wait. Many of them wished they could just be defeated and get it over with. Others thought they still stood a chance.
The authorities were trying unsucessfully at keeping the Rebel Dreadnaught under wraps. Nevertheless they had to wait for Sergei. They finally met him in the spaceport bar. He was quite flabberghasted at the situation.
“And all this happened after I was shot?”
“It is hard for me to believe all these exciting events when I look back on them, too. When they actually happened I just acted.” Rezvan replied.
Hardslab spoke. “For me it started with a simple mission. Things really can get carried away.”
Rezvan replied with logic. “No man, if I understand you right, it started when the successors of the six fragments attacked you.”
“It doesn’t really matter how it started. We are here now. I hate the situation, we have to deal with it.”
Sergei suddenly straightened in his seat. “By the way I may have something to help us deal with it: When I was leaving the cloaked landing port to hide the existence of the Dreadnaught someone told me I needed to go straight to Secure Briefing Room H18. I can’t believe I forgot. Something about the bubble theory. We’d better go immediately.”
The briefing room had endless security measures. It was cloaked from sight the strange shape hid it from every type of radar known. The walls were mae out of a special material called Themfall which completely blocked out anything including transmissions. Rezvan had even brought his clone detector.
“Hello, I’m Archilles.” Rick Hardslab was startled. He hadn’t seen anyone else in the room.
“I didn’t mean to scare you. At least not yet. What I have to say will.”
“You probably understand the bubble analogy. If not, it works something like this:”
He held up a peice of paper. “If there were people on this paper they wouldn’t be able to see anything but a line. Their world would be two-dimensional. Everyone wouldn’t be able to see up or down. They would have no concept of up or down. No one would be tall or short beyond that of the paper.”
Then he rolled the paper into a ball. “Eveyone is this paper universe is on the inside. In order to get from one place to another they must follow the paper to that place.”
Archilles poked his finger into the paper making a rip. “What if someone thought beyond two dimensions and lifeted above the paper to cross through its center or around its outside?”
He tossed the paper into a recycling bin. “That is an over-simplified version of what we have done.”
“But what is your point?” asked Sergei, “I know about the bubble effect. What is scary about that? How does you explaining it again help the defense? Why do we need this topsecret room?”
He took a deep breath, “The Cerebrus have successfully duplicated the bubble effect.”
“What?!” the others chorused.
“It isn’t as bad as you think. It’s worse. The good news is the version for their ships is very massive and needs a large specially made for the situation. This ship shouldn’t be very well armored. The other part is that it is much harder to transport large amounts of organic material. The jumps will take longer to recharge and more energy.”
Archilles looked at his audience. The stood stunned. “The bad news is that they have a way make a much larger bubble. I don’t know what the technique is, probably some sort of relaying, but it means that if they do it all at once they will be able to hide entire fleets.”
“Fortunately they still can only hide themselves, not do a thing with it.”

“This is going to change things a lot,” said Sergei, who had finally regained his composure. “Our entire battle plan will have to be redone.”
“At least this means we can safely assume they won’t be attacking any time soon,” said Rezvan, the converted alien coming out of deep thought.
“Why is that?” asked Hardslab, the simple captain that somehow became a great pilot in the war with the the Cerebrus.
“Accomplishing such a feat so soon after just having proof that it was possible must have drained them severely. To send out a fleet, even with the odds in their favor of dominating an entire species, would be almost impossible. If you remember, you lost many a ship in the testing. Fortunately war hadn’t hurried you to put a battleship or fleet in.”
They soon departed. Rezvan had to make a few arrangements before his departure from the planet. Hardslab desperately needed sleep, and Sergei had a few classified things to talk over with Archilles about the recent news and defense strategy.
The next day was largely uneventful except for the goodbye of Rezvan. Sergei spent most of it in the library looking at the hi-tech ships and weapons.
Hardslab had noticed something very strange about Sergei. He had a tint of black and magenta. Wanting to avoid offending the captain he said nothing and it disappeared around 1100 hours.
The night, unfortunately was eventful, and security awoke Hardslab, groggy eyed. The was a heavy expresso. “We found Sergei boarding a prototype of one of the latest ships. He got away.”
“What?!” Hardslab was beginning to say this very often. “Sergei is on our side.”
“He was. This particular ship had a version of bubble transport.”
“Effect.” Hardslab was out of bed and at the desk in his threadbare cabin. “Not the transport.”
“Unfortunately I have to say that he did have the transport. And Sergei was heading for Cerebrus space.”
“Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no!”
“If you come with me, Archilles and the chief tech may have figured out a way to stop them.”

OOC: Okay, so, now that this story is back, and since everyone is probably a little behind on what has happened, I'll just do some background development to clear everything up.
--------
BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT
The war between the alien factions continued on for several months, neither side gaining an advantage. The alien bubble ship prototype had apparently been destroyed while it was being tested and the aliens never built another one.
Finally, after six months, the only two factions that were left fighting (the others had either been destroyed or accepted into other factions) were the Cerberus and the Phoenix. Soon, the Cerberus were completely contained inside a heavily defended Phoenix defense line.
Ravzan continued to fight in the alien galaxy and finally ended up as the leader of the Phoenix. Seregei had been killed by a Phoenix scout when he tried to escape. Jason Master finally built the new secret base on Palshife, and Dash Riprock had returned to the Milky Way. Rick Hardslabs friend, Karen, was now a Rebel nurse on Palshife. Robert, know as Bob to the rest of them, also went back to the Milky Way and became the captain of a Rebel destroyer. Finally, Rick Hardslab was all alone with the Phoenix in the Alien galaxy, which turned out to be the Ursa Minor Galaxy.
Finally, after another six months fighting, Rick Hardslab came home to the Milky Way.
But it was very different.
The Rebels and Confeds had advanced considerably using the technology obtained from the aliens. Both sides had much better shields and armor and now the Confeds were using a new type of Particle Beam in place of the neutron blasters on their cruiser, all their ships were slightly more maneuverable, and they also replaced their normal torpedoes with new heavy torpedoes.
The Rebels to had advanced. They had much better shielding and armor, their ships were also faster and more maneuverable. They also replaced all the heavy rockets with new Nova Rockets, put javelins on their manta fighters, and also but fusion beam turrets on all their destroyers (fusion beam turrets, not HEAVY Fusion beam turrets).
The galaxy had also changed. The Rebels now controlled several independent and Confed border systems, and the Confed research lab on Ruby had been destroyed. The Confeds now had a new one on Tau Ceti VI in the Tau Ceti system.
Into all this Rick Hardslab is thrown....

Rick Hardslab relaxed in the chair of his brand new specially designed Rebel Destroyer. It had custom weapons which Hardslab had picked himself, had a modified hyperdrive, and many other enhancements. Hardslab, manually flying the Raven (the name of his destroyer), maneuvered towards New Istanbul in the Yemuro system.

Hardslab, after gaining landing clearance and putting the Raven down on a landing pad, got out and went to the spaceport. He walked around and saw the usual stuff, the bars, the holovids, the mission computers, the spacecaptains, and the ships coming and going. Going into one descent looking bar, Hardslab ordered a drink, when suddenly someone tapped him on the shoulder...

In my humble position as EVEA Administrator, i expect this to be an epic event. This story came before the Light Behind the Shadow series that made scattered webstories a modern board trend, and it was one of the main online stories to lead to the ones we today call webstories. Kryptauros was a great figure in creating a base for the stories we all love today.

The bubble technology should be named so I'm going to call it a Quantum Reflexive Drive. If anyone wants to change it, feel free.
----------------------
Hardslab figured out why Sergie was blue and black in the morning and was angry at himself for not seeing it sooner. Sergie was a clone of the real one. He knew he must stop Sergie before he could give the transport to the Cerebrus.
Later in the spaceport bar Hardslab was trying to form a team of people to help find and stop Sergie.
"Wouldn't he be there already if he has a ship with the Quantum drive?" queried Riprock.
"It wasn't fully charged. It'll be another day or so before he can use it." answered Hardslab.
"What about the drednought? Where is it? I haven't see it since the fake Sergie was in command of it."
Just then the klaxxon sounded calling captions to their ships. As they cleared the atmosphere they saw two Confed Cruisers with eight patrol ships deployed. Where did the confeds get Quantum Reflexive drives anyway Hardslab asked him self. As they attacked and destroyed one of the patrol ships it turned red and black in the shape of a Cerebrus fighter and then exploded. They noticed this too with the one of the cruisers. As soon as it exploded it was in the shape of a Cerebrus cruiser. Beefpile orderd the fleet to disable the second cruiser and not destroy it. After it was disabled, it was boarded by a Centar transport.
As the boarding crew stepped aboard they saw that the inside was that of a Cerebrus cruiser. They went to the engineering section and quickly disarmed the five gaurds and the engineers (who were all Cerebrus.) They noticed a large glowing object in the center of engineering. They approched it and took it back to the planet and examined it. They discovered that it was a larger form of the cloning technology. It could clone ships!
----------------------
Forgive me if any of the plot is screwed up or if there is incurekt speeling.
Uhhhh.... Mike, that post of yours is TOTALLY implausible. First, I already said in the prologue type thing that Sergie was dead. Secondly, only the Rebels have the Quantum drive thing and only a few Rebel Dreadnaughts have been built and they are the only ships which can use the drive. Thirdly, did you see my last post? You have to continue from it. Finally, the Cerebrus don't have quantum reflex drive technology anymore. They lost it when they're test ship was destroyed and it will take them a while before they can test it again.
Also, the Dreadnaught that you are talking about is in Satori.
