Heya. Welcome to the forums.
Normally, I'd be glad to have an additional player. But BFS III is about to approach its final few pages (I wouldn't doubt if this is the final topic). The Empire is about dead, and the Dreden could possibly be losing their capital soon. There might be a BFS IV in the future, and we'd be glad to have you join.
The next (most likely) webstory will be "An EV Webstory." I haven't worked out major details at the moment, and likely won't have it underway until late spring/summer. But if you're interested, check out the link in my sig, and tell me what you think.

Hey, also I thought I would comment about the current situation about the Dreden capitol being captured. Yes, I believe that a faction should be able to choose their own capitol's defense fleet. However, they should have to choose it at the beginning of the game, and keep it like that. They shouldn't be allowed to pick their defense fleet right before an enemy's attack, because then they could put together a fleet specifically designed to counter the incoming fleet.
Also, I believe that as long as the capture of Dreden went along with all of the rules at the time, then it should be legal. You can't expect Legatus Ipvicus to follow rules not in effect at the time. Therefore, I conclude that while the rule should be altered, it should not affect the capture of Dreden, because those rules were not implemented at that time.
I don't expect anyone to care about what I think (after all I haven't actually played), but I just thought I would give my two cents.

Hey Skyblade, I went to the page and checked out your new webstory in development. Can I register to be on the Rebellion team? I thought it would be easier because then Kyle and I could be on the same team, and then he could help if I had any problems getting started. If I can't be on the Rebellion, then I would like to be on the Confederation. Thanks.

Your first point- Agreed. It would always be a good idea to select a capital defense fleet at the start of the game, but believe me, this webstory was already extrememly complicated. Therefore, we never took the matter seriously until it just now occured. I'll be keeping that idea in mind for the EV Webstory.
Second point: I have no problem with Empire actually conquering Dreden. In fact, it would probably be their last major victory if they won. Without a capital, a joint effort between the remaining Dreden fleets and Human Confederation would wipe out all remaining resistance. We simply outnumber them too badly. That was the point I was trying to get across before the aliens attacked Dreden. I'm content to say that Dreden probably will fall, but the Imperial forces to the north will likely be non-existent soon. And if the Empire does go through with attacking Dreden, they will likely lose almost (if not all) of their warfleet. Therefore, the alien fleets in the north will be all we have to worry about. You can always use an enemy's tactic against him. 
It would probably even work better for the Dreden if the aliens continued their attack on the capital.
I care about everyone's opinion. You just keep stating your thoughts whenever you think is necessary.
I'd be glad to have you join the Rebellion, although the Confederation certainly needs some extra players (in time, this situation will get very one-sided if we don't get more 'Fed players at the time being). You are more than willing to play as Rebel, but if you're up to it, Confederation is where we need you. Take your pick, though... It's all up to you.

Alright, I have a lot to say here. First of all, you guys are all being really unfair on all points. Why are you voiding the Dreden posts? It was completely fair, and Ipvicus had nearly a 300 million credit advantage. He had 3 ravagers, each with 8 tractor beams, plus 2 heavy frigates with the point d cannons. Mac, consider us gone if you don't let the Dreden post stand because it was our only hope. To take it, thus taking all dreden systems, and eliminating all dreden players. Your rules said so. With all of Carn and Rak's ridiculous posts and Skyblade's to boot about attacking Sentarus prime, voiding the Dreden post is absurd. Have you forgotten that Sentarus prime has 500 million in defense fleets? We planned the maneuvers out to absolute perfection, from the moves to Exerd and the capital placement. and notice at the end that ipvicus's fleet suffered more losses than the dreden even though he severely outnumbered them. Skyblade, why don't you read our attack on Dreden thoroughly.
There were some enormous fleets, one dreden, two human, approaching, and taking out dreden eliminates the dreden pl ayers and gives up all their systems. It was a perfectly fair and legal 2 posts about taking dreden, and you guys are too sore to take the loss. No Skyblade, I wouldn't argue if you took my capital because a defense fleet is a defense fleet. Skyblade, you SPECIFICALLY told grundy and I that control of defense fleets was not allowed. We took Dreden, they're gone, it's completely fair. It was an 800 million fleet vs. a 500 million fleet. A fleet 163 percent bigger than another would win, no question. We took Dreden fair and square and you just can't live with it. Frankly, I'm disgusted at how this is being handled. On behalf of the Alien empire, I'm going to surrender since anything we do obviously can't be accepted by the Dreden nor the Humans. Thanks for a decent game, you win.

Kender, you have obviously not read a single bit of Mac's mod post. It would all make sense if you did so.
Capital bases are permitted to have a defense fleet hand-picked by the Dreden player (and I will be picking that defense fleet shortly). True, I might only have 500 million credits to spend, but as Mac pointed out, these guys are the elite of the Dreden Navy (and likely to inflict many more losses). Mac also pointed out that capital system defense fleets are controlled by a member of that government. Be sure you know where you're coming from before posting your complaints.
Therefore, we must now re-do the Battle of Dreden. I requested that the alien players stop the attack on Dreden while I waited for Mac to answer a few urgent questions, but they didn't. Since they didn't stop posting, all those posts have to be void now. If the aliens decide to attack again, chances are they'd win (about 60% chance or more). The only reason I voided the attacks on Dreden was because we hadn't picked a defense fleet for the system, and weren't given a chance to post for it. Make a bit more sense?
You're right, I specifically told you and grundy that you couldn't hand pick a fleet for core worlds. And Mac didn't even make the rule about players picking their own defense fleets and given command for capital systems until after the attack on Dreden had already begun.
Numbers mean nothing, my friend. Tactics are what matters. I happen to have every single German operation and armored tactic down (from Rommel to Balck, you name it. I've studied every aspect of WWII tactics for the past seven or so years), and the German forces of World War II were constantly able to defeat forces five to eight times their size, especially on the Eastern Front. If you know what you're doing, then being outnumbered isn't a problem. It's the commander and the quality of your fleet, and how well your operations are carried out.
Surrender not accepted. We're going to re-do this. If you're upset about the Dreden battle being re-done, then you can fuss to Mac about passing that rule.
If you were in our shoes, wouldn't you want to pick your own capital defense fleet and command it? It's the most important system of the game, geez.

The Sentarus posts are void, so you've got nothing to complain about now. I didn't realize that the Imperial players hadn't selected their own defense fleets following my entrance into the battle. Had I known, I would have voided everything before hand.
