Once in the Sten system Legatus Ipvicus contacted the local Militia, he would need them if the Dreden rebels attempted to attack the new capital in Stentaurus through this Hyperspace lane. Once he had talked to the local commader of the defense fleet about hte defese measeres he was taking, he began to ready his fleet for any upcoming battles.

I'm splitting these forces up into warfleets again, all commanded by their original players. Dreden commanders, keep your brigade numbers as they are. They are now your own individual warfleets.

Um, what do you mean? I just moved the capital to Sentarus Prime. The 300 mil of capital defender ships comes along and adds on to the 200 mil of the core world defense fleet. So nothing changes but the location of the capital

Nope, you don't get to keep that 300 million capital defender funds in Deus. That only stays with the system where the capital is currently based. I performed my assault on Deus taking the 200 million core world rule into mind, and suffered more casualties than I do taking normal colony worlds.

I probably would have lost my battlecarrier anyway, I just never appreciated the fact that it was blown to pieces in the first post.

Legatus, scaned his personal vidscreen with satisfaction, the Dreden had behaved just as the Emperor had predicted. Ipvicus activated the intercom on the arm of his command chair "All hand prepare to commense Operation Final Push on my mark." He waited as the fleet formed up around him, with one simple word he began the finest military campaign in Iperial history: "Mark."

Calais-Ellsondor-Verdicia: Velbert

The 5th fleet jumped out of Hyperspace with a suprise that shocked the Velbert defenders. Even as the local militia fleet began to rise to engae him the Aliens were uppon them. The Two Oddessyus cruiser evaporated in a shower of flames, closely followed by the hawk gunships escorting them. In a matter of minutes the Alien fighters had dispatched the squadron of Crickets that had held out the longest.

Detecting no fleets present in the Brex system, Mark James quick made his next tactical decision.

"Admiral Mark James to the 7th and 16th fleet; prepare to enter the Brex system and engage the enemy defense fleet. Lets go!!"

A cheer was heard over the comlink, for the Human Confederation was now quite zealous in their fight against the Alien Empire. It was now that the human race would get its true revenge for the war they had suffered so much in, many years ago.

The two massive fleets jumped into the Brex system, catching the Aliens off guard by their massive size. As the Aliens counter-charged, all HC Hammerheads and Devil Rays charged forward. Firing all their weapons, the Hammerheads and Devil Rays were able to launch a massive hoard of space bombs (280 bombs total) at the Alien fleet.

The Aliens could not outmaneuver this oncoming menace, and were forced to plow right through it with disasterous results. Many Alien fighters were incinerated upon impact, while destroyers were hit and flung back into the heavier capitol ships. The resulting chaos tore apart the Aliens as they struggled to regroup.

Then came the second wave. A hoard of Skates, Stingrays, and Swordfish charged the Aliens and unleashed a hellish amount of Rockets and HALO Missiles into the fray. The Aliens were hit hard again, and then came the Hammerheads, the Destroyers, the Tigershark Frigates, and other medium warships.

All the while the larger warships had been pummelling the enemy fleet from afar, hitting them hard with torpedoes and missiles. Now they and some of the destroyers formed a ring, and then quickly closed the ring in on their enemies.

The Aliens were doomed, and the Human Confederation warships delt with them quickly and effectively. Once again, Mark James had shown the importance of the Devil Ray, once thought useless against the Aliens, but now his best weapon to fight them. In coordination with Hammerheads and other fighters, they were deadly.

The Brex system is now under Human Confederation control, captured by Admiral Mark James

Ipvicus was excited, finally after years of war the Alien Empire was about to triumph over its greatest enemy. Once he saw that his fleet was refueled he ordered his crew to begin the final stages of Operation Final Push. ___________________________________________________________________

Rale-Maddex-Uriah-Dreden

By now the formidible defense fleet of Dreden had already arrayed itself for battle, well aware that the fate of their entire nation hung in the balance. When the the entire fleet was in system Legatus Ipvicus launched all of his fighters organized them into squadrons. He then began his advance toward the Dreden defensive position. Before his ships had covered even 50 kilometers they encountered the first trap layed for them by the clever Dreden defenders. One of his advancing picketships (a Cruiser) was struck and totally destroyed by two of the insidious dreden mines. Horrified by the loss of oneofhis ships before the battle had even started Ipvicus ordered his entire fleet inot full stop. "Scan the space around us for mines immediately, i dont want any more ships lost to those damned things and find that minelayer!" Within moments his sensor officers were crying out firing solutions to the rest of his gunners. In an equally quick amount of time his captain reported that most of the mines in their path were destroyed and the minelayer disabled, the ones closest to his ships were being towed away by the Ravagers in his fleet. "No" he ordered "i have something in mind for those mines."

With the mines out of his way Ipvicus was ready to commense with the real battle ahead of him. He ordered all his interceptors, guboats, destroyers and as a trump card, one of his new ravagers plus his heavy frigates to form a screen in front of his fleet, then started his advance. His fighters were the first to clash with the enemy Dreden, who had also put their fighters in a screen. most of his fighters were able to dodge the first wave of long range weapons. As they executed evasive maneuvers the point defense cannons were able to pick of many of the tracking munitions, the ones they missed hit the fighters armour. As the tractors on the ravager in his screen lashed out at the enemy heavy fighters his interceptors swarmed on their numericly larger foes with wolf-like fury, supported by their bretheren in the desroyers, and the eight tractors of the Ravager the Interceptors took few losses. but the damage they inflicted was heavy within a few minutes they had already desroyed more than their number in crickets and heavy fighters, while only losing four of their comrades. When the Dreden fighters began to retreat to the saftey of the rest of their fleet, the oppoutunity to use their newly accuired mines arose. The Dreden fleet was approaching full force, with Athena Battlegunships and a Titan Battlecruiser in the lead. A hulking Verdica Carrier was visible in thebackground, launching its fighters.

The Ravagers took to flight, each tractoring 3 mines and approaching the Foremost Battlegunships and the Titan Battlecruiser. The vector they took was directly at the ships. One Ravager pulled up and deactivated 2 of its tractors. The 2 mines impacted into an Athena, obliterating it completely. The second ravager had unleashed all 3 mines onto the Titan, inflicting very heavy damage to it. 2 more mines finished it off and one more disabled another Athena. Explosions damaged many of the fighters from the Verdica that had been approaching the alien fleet. Fire from the Titan had heavily damaged one of the Ravagers however, and it pulled back. Plasma torpedoes caught up to it and destroyed it. Surrounding the Ravagers in their attacks were the 2 heavy frigates and swarming interceptors who took care to stay out of the range of the mines.

Now came the full deadliness of the enormous alien fleet. Seeker modules were launched furiously at the Verdica Carrier and the remaining Battlecruisers. As one alien carrier entered range, the dreden battlecruiser mk. II unleashed the trinity cannon, destroying the carrier and damaging several ships around it. But the battlecruiser had no chance to recharge it’s weapon, as seeker modules and beam cannon fire destroyed it. The Verdica Carrier was laying waste to any ships that neared it, but 2 battlecruisers were within fusion beam range. With seeker modules impacting it from every angle, the Verdica Carrier soon erupted in flame. The Destroyer Mk. II’s advanced, launching their devastating starwraith rockets and destroying a battlecruiser. Heavy frigates managed to destroy many starwraith rockets with their point defense cannons, but the battlecruiser could not be saved.

The Dreden commanders could see the hopeless situation and ordered their ships to pull back and regroup. Devastating damage had been done.

(Picking up on The Battle for Pollux, where ZMT bushwhacked me....)

“Get out of here now!” ordered acting 19th Fleet Commander Pl’Haav. Rally on the Scourge as soon as you get to rendezvous point Gamma 2. Use tactic Vortex B to keep any further losses to a minimum. Pl’Haav out.”

The pirate craft immediately routed all non-Life Support power to their shields and engines, all of them swirling, juking and jinking at 20% more than maximum speed (very dangerous and only used for brief emergency maneuvering) for the fringes of Pollux space. Then they were gone from the disastrous battle with ZenMasta T’s HC fleet. In the only successful move since they captured Pollux, there were no more pirate losses.

At “Gamma 2” KK’s exhausted survivors were reinforced by the 28 very welcome Styx fighters from Lord Asriel. An unprecedented bonus also arrived at Gamma 2. Almost the entire pirate defense fleet from Pollux chose to join KK’s fleet.

When Pl’Haav instructed the 19th Fleet to leave Pollux it took mere seconds for Pollux Defense Commander Zale and most of her pilots to elect to evacuate Pollux. Life with KK’s fleet somehow seemed more appealing than “life” in an HC military prison.

Zale’s wing was more powerful in mostly every respect than the surviving KK fleet. What a boon! Zale added 1 Drake, 8 Debs, 2 'Vettes and 7 Lancers to the fleet.

Pl’Haav immediately divided the fleet into two wings. Then he ordered the wing made up of Zale’s fresh ships and crews into System Defense Net “Delta Sierra.” (There would never be another undetected HC attack if Pl’Haav had any say about it.) He then addressed the fleet:

“As the saying goes, ‘War is hell’.” said Pl’Haav over the 19th Fleet’s encoded comm link. As most of you now know (It better have been “luck”. Otherwise we have some saboteurs to slowly and painfully kill.) the very first salvo from the attacking HCs hit the Snake precisely where the Kap’n was meeting with the fleet’s tactical team.

“Wing Commander Dirk and the Scourge First Officer Geppa were killed. The Kap’n and our two surviving Wing Commanders are in the Scourge Sick Bay. Commander Kotov may not make it until tomorrow. Both Kaptain Karl and Commander Vic have been in induced comas from the time they arrived in Sick Bay. As the ranking officer (Quartermaster on the Scourge) I am in temporary command. Not presuming to actually replace the Kaptain, I am to be addressed as “Commander” until one of our ranking officers takes over.

“The doctor is planning to bring Kaptain Karl out of his coma later today, but she tells me it is only “fifty-fifty” that he will avoid having suffered some permanent brain damage. Please keep the Kaptain in your prayers.

“Keep working on repairs and rearming. As soon as we have learned more, you will be informed. Pl’Haav out.”

The 19th Pirate Fleet has bad news. Kaptain Karl and all our tactical officers were incapacitated in the first moments of an HC attack at Pollux. (Yes, that skunk, ZenMasta T.)

I am sorry to report we abandoned Pollux. We were very nearly wiped out before leaving. What remains of our fleet has regrouped at Rally Point Gamma 2 and we have been happily bolstered by the majority of Commander Zale's defense fleet from Pollux.

Medical Officer Tolo is planning to revive the Kaptain very shortly. She tells us he has a 50-50 chance of full recovery.

We thank you for the Styx fighters and implore you to rush us any additional reinforcements at your earliest convenience.

(Alright, here is the corrected version of the battle. Mac, I'm adding fighters because the Styx have neutron beams, not tri-photon. Your anti-fighter strategy was based on them having tri-photon. I'm assuming your pilots wanted to stay alive more than die along with some of my fighters.)

The two Interdicters faced a dilemma. Over a hundred corvettes were quickly approaching them from the Blackthorne Station and the Interdicter captains knew they would be wiped out if they stayed. On the other hand, if they ran they would be forced to shut down the gravity generators in order to put enough energy into their engines to run. They decided to run, since the gravity field would be lost anyway, it was better to have their ships remain in order to fight another day. The lighter ships and fighters of the HC fleet began to turn away from the main pirate fleet in order to combat the new corvette menace. Seizing the opportunity, spl_cadet's fleet jumped, leaving the HC fleet behind. The hundred corvettes knew their duty and performed it excellently, fighting to the bitter end. Swarming enemy ships was a favored tactic which allowed for a maximum of damage to the enemy ships. When they couldn't do that, they rammed. But all too soon it was over.

Mark James sat in his command chair, eying the newly captured system of Brex. Suddenly, however, a lieutenant rushed in, holding a datapad. Giving the pad to Mark then running back off to his station in a hurry, the HC Admiral read the report.

It stated that there was increased Dreden activity near the system of Deus, which meant that they had most likely finished a major offensive action against the Aliens. But it was also reported that the only current Alien fleet in Exerd was a relatively small fleet, which Mark could easily destroy.

Mark sat in his command chair, silent and unmoving, considering all the possibilities. Finally, he spoke. "Send a message to all hands; we're going to attack the Exerd system. Inform the crew to prepare for the engaging of an alien fleet in addition to the defense fleet."

Soon, the two fleets were prepared and ready for battle. Giving the word, the hyperdrive engines charged up, and the two fleets zoomed into hyperspace in a quick streak of light. Travelling much faster than the speed of sound, the glorious vessels sailed through space, and finally exited the jumplink in a flash of blue light.

As they entered the Exerd system, the alarm was sounded and the two fleets charged the 15th Alien Fleet. The Aliens were expecting the HC, but that didn't make them any more unsuseptible to their firepower.

A hail of rockets, HALO Missiles, and space bombs tore through the very core of the Alien fleet as the 7th Fleet rushed off to deal with the Exerd defense force, leaving Admiral Rak to deal with the larger Alien fleet.

The 7th Fleet charged, guns blazing. An Ravager that was spotted was instantly pounced upon, and all of the larger capitol ships took the brunt of the firepower. As Skates and Swordfish duelled with Alien Fighters, taking them down one by one, the larger capitol ships pummeled them from afar. Soon the Exerd defense fleet had been destroyed, but the enemy 15th fleet was still a problem.

However, the 15th Fleet suddenly jumped out towards Tarkard, leaving behind two puzzelled and yet victorious HC fleets. Troops were landed, and soon the Exerd system was under HC control.

Skyblade brought the 101st Warfleet out of hyperspace within the Exerd system. His fleet's latest reports had indicated the withdrawal of an Imperial fleet, therefore making the time ripe for an assault against Exerd.

Skyblade's fleet approached Exerd, just like it did any other hostile system...

...a sensor operator's voice suddenly broke the silence.

"Sir! Two massive warfleets are being detected along the opposite side of the planet! Numbers are massive."

"Battlestations!" Skyblade quickly responded.

The sensor operator again looked at his computer screen, and an odd look appeared on his face.

"Sir, the fleet warships don't seem to represent that of the Empire. Data reports that the warship designs are quite similar to our own."

Skyblade slowly sat down in his command chair, gripping the sides with tension. Then the thought hit him.

"Downgrade to yellow alert," Skyblade ordered.

"But sir, we don't kno-"

"I said yellow alert, lieutenant."

The 101st continued towards the planet and came all the closer to the two large fleets which approached from the other side. Perhaps the final moments of first contact had finally come to pass... If not, then Skyblade's fleet was in for some serious trouble.

Legatus Ipvicus looked over the battle report given to him by the young ensign at his side, he had taken substantial losses in the last scirmish, but victory was now in his grasp. Once again he ordered his smaller support craft to form a screen to protect his capital ships. He then began to spread out to finish the battle with the remaining Dreden defense fleet.
Before he could begin the attack the remaining Dreden destroyers formed a phalanx and attempted to punch through the defensive screen. Before they were in weapon range, however, the now unencumbered tractor beams on his Ravagers lashed out and grabbed hold of the lead Destroyer. By the time they had understood what was about to happen a hail of seeker drones and moudules from the greater alien fleet smashed into them. Obliterating the lead ship and serverley damaging two others. As soon as this happened the alien cruisers escorted by the destroyers and fighters swept in and crushed the remaining destoryers, and their escorting heavy fighters.
Fueled by vengance for their fallen comrades at Verdica and Stornick, the greater alien fleet swept down on the remaining Dreden ships. Seeker moudules and plasma weapons flashed back and forth between the two fleets, annillating alien and Dreden ships alike. The remianing alien capital ships took up firing positions around the last Titan battle cruiser, while the destroyers and other support ships engaged the smaller Dreden craft. In only a few minutes the last Dreden Hawk Gunship had exploded in a hail of shrapnel.
The alien fleet had won a decisive victory but not without cost. More than half of what had been a glorious fleet now lays in ruins,but the battle had been won this day, and with it the Dreden Rebellion had been defeated.
