very nice indeed, Lu...(darn, I forgot the name already!). I tries some of that and it all worked out well. Nice job though, it's better than I would have done!

Congrats. I have no idea what instrument you could possibly play.

Alrighty, file uploaded. sigh
I like the site, although it doesn't look as good in Netscape. I think I may know what the problem is... I'll get back to you later on that (I think it may be some spacing issues before </TD> tags, which can cause unwanted effects, to say the least). Also, I like the layout for the shipyard; I've been toying with redoing the layout for mine, maybe I'll use yours as a starting point. shrug
Also, I might as well tell you here: I've set it so you can use SSI tags on a regular .html file (you don't have to rename the file .shtml). Just a heads up, should you want to make the bottom part a seperate file (for easier updating).
I'm gonna go have lunch now, I'm hungry.

heh thanks Skyblade, yes I'd love to work with you. I tell ya what, ill work a large logo for ya, i.e. a 600x600 logo so you can shrink it or whatever. I wanted to use your ships, but the problem is none of them are at a steep enough angle. I was thinking if i could get a confed battelcruiser at a 'prepare to die' oncoming angle, itd look quite intimidating :p. PLus its the best of your models, perfectly showing the detail required to make a ship of its supremy what it is. On another note, i think your new ship sizes are great, it just seems wrong a courier is only half the length of a confed cruiser.
Also i have you on my trillian list (AIM/icq... etc all in one prog, i love it :p), have ya on alert for when you come online, no luck yet :p.
I've been taking some attempts at 3d ships, however i seem to prefer simplicity. My ships come out quite bland and a bit too '3d' looking, or for better a better word, 'like a toy'. Heres my first shot, albeit a very quick job (around ten to 15 minutes) but it came out with a kind of aesthetic i liked. (url="http://"http://www.postnuclear.net/orb/members/images/22.jpg")http://www.postnucle...s/images/22.jpg(/url) . Problem is Bryce isnt flexible on making mesh distortable models. So alot of simple shapes require multiple shapes to "cut/merge/intersect" etc.
Also, Skyblade, for a webpage, My site that 'shows off' my coding ability is (url="http://"http://www.postnuclear.net/orb/")http://www.postnuclear.net/orb/(/url) . Keep in mind its not EV related. But try to veiw comments on a news post, or, use the new account link on the side of the page. Its a system entirely like this forum. Enter login/pass, put your sig and you can add comments to each news post i have. And I'm not trying to brag or advertise, as im the first to deny credit for anything i have done for the sake of sounding non-egotistical. But perhaps its what your looking for so i can help ya out as i did everything on that site, graphics and coding alike, with few exceptions. well ill end this part here as this forum is not a Lucid-skyblade conversation thread heh.
I've been wanting to design a new covette, but it would have to be the most stylish of ships, needs to really emphasize sleek intimidating and fast firepower vessel.
To conclude this post, you might notice alot of spelling errors or missing letters or grammatical errors. Got a bad cold, and to add to it its reall cold here in hawaii, which is uncommon.

If it had some, it would be, quite easily, a very realistic ship, and wouldn't look 'like a toy'.

Glad you like the shipyard. Actually isn't a new idea, since I used the same layout on my old websites. Use to your preference.

I've made every texture I've used for my ships. They aren't very detailed, it's just that Infini-D excels in applying them at odd angles and so on. Once I start work on that texture depot I've talked about, I'll throw some of them up for download.

Which is exactly what I intend on making a portion of Saber Studios open for graphics development and textures. I have a hard time finding textures online, so I've ended up making my own. I've got fifty-three textures and counting...

The logo sounds great. Also, when you've finished with it, you mind sending it to me in .psd format? And are you referring to an SS or Confederation logo?
The ships in those close-up images aren't to scale.

**Wow, that looks cool. It has that EV look and freighter feel to it. For a Bryce image and that little time, your model is an excellent result. As EVula said, a few textures should do the job.

I might call on your services sometime soon to look into some of that more advanced coding. But for now, heck... I just need to get half my website completed first. Some nice work you've got there.

I use IE for testing 'extra' stuff, such as style sheet inhancements (rollovers, letterspaced classes, etc). They aren't supported by NS, but it looks just fine in it anyway.
Then again, I do all my stuff in BBEdit.

Basically, for this example, every page on the site calls for the side (and bottom, actually) navigation from a seperate file. If I want to add a section (say, a DMB Lyric section under the Misc. heading), I just edit "sidebar.txt" or whatever I call it, and every single page will be updated with that information. VERY helpful when building larger sites.

Usually when I find you on GameRanger, you're busy killing marines in Aliens vs Predator. Then I can blame our lack of communication on you <evil grin>,
I updated all the major SS banners with your font. They look much better than before. Also, the texture depot is now open for company...

Skyblade: On the opening image for your website with the pirate lightnings, I think it would look a lot better if the one in the bottom right were rotated on the Z around 90 degrees counter-clockwise or so. The ships would be going the same direction, but seen from different angles.

Well, I've got some fine webspace, but you'll have to confront EVula over that.
F2s is deleting all free acounts early next year, so the best free webspace I can think of is Apple's. You have to have OS 9 or later to run iTools, however...

They are already going the exact same direction, with only a few degrees difference. These guys are flying in formation, not trying to advertise their paint job and firepower. I get what you're saying, but that just doesn't sound realistic (well, does anything related to EV sound realistic? ;)).
Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Heh, this is great. I have Flaming Pear Software's "LunarCell, Glitterato, and SolarCell" Photoshop plugins, the first two which I registered months back. Well, I lost the codes to my registered copies when my computer caught sevendust, so I contacted Flaming Pear about again receiving the registration codes. Not only did the guy give my the codes two the two plugins I needed them for, but he went ahead and gave me the code for SolarCell as well (about a twenty dollar value). He said I could have bought all three in a bundle package months back and saved a bit, so he saw no reason in making me pay for SolarCell. Well, that improves my EV graphics capabilities...
