Cadet: Exactly what I had in mind. BFS IV (which I will likely call something different when the time comes) will be completely based on the Rebel / Confederation war. Although BFS the original was based on that very thing, it lacked consistent players and popularity. I'm already at work on it, and making a few rules to hopefully improve gameplay and make everyone happy.

This "BFSIV" could actually get started very quickly, because you already have all or almost all of the graphics that we would need. Looks like those Confederation and Rebellion sets are really going to pay off.

Kyle, the moment I started playing as an alien I had planned this. I didn't even try to keep it a secret, look at all of the posts after Nick's assasination. They ALL have hints about defection in them. I did not do this because the aliens were losing, it was in motion when they were winning. Ok, I'll agree that I probably would have lost some of my fleet, so I'll take 2 heavy cruisers, 4 destroyers, and 10 heavy fighters off of my fleet roster.

What you have to realise is that in these games, one side will always lose, and they'll always be angry about it. You can either pull back and salvage what's left, or you can whine about losing and let yourself be destroyed. Your call. And concerning my defection, which would you prefer to live in: A democracy or a dictatorship? This is similar to the confed-rebel civil war. In the end, the rebels got tired of the confederate tyranny and overthrew their government. And the aliens are defined as a cruel empire, why can't the same thing happen here?

BariSax, if you had wanted to play for the Dreden why the hell didn't you just join them in the first place instead of giving yourself an unfair position in the heart of rebel territory. Also, would you rather live in a "democratic" society with 8 headed 30 eyed aliens who don't speak our language or in a "dictatorship" with your friends, family, and race? I just think it was pretty lame for you to join the aliens with the sole purpose of defecting. spl-cadet just pointed out that defecting was decided against in previous rules? Well well well...

Eh well, Skyblade, Jager has posted once and rebel council and saint+ are both gone! It's just me! That's a tough position wouldn't you agree? If only they came back it would be more manageable. meanwhile, I'll do my best!

Gee Kyle, it's almost as if I was around for those discussions of the rules and they are in the rules on the website (which I read). It's also like Skyblade told me this beforehand in our e-mail corespondence, and it's almost like I expected RC and saint's fleets to be destroyed. Situations change, live with it. And it's not like it's the end of the entire universe as we know it if you lose a game on a webboard, which I believe you can rejoin if you die.

Rak, you didn't let any of the aliens respond to your initial gate passing post, so I think that the one you just posted, (1 minuted before my response) should be voided.

Alright, I seem to have caused a lot of confusion and anger with this, so I am recommending a course of action. The initial defection was suposed to be when aliens had an advantage, and it would even out the playing field. Since this obviously isn't the case, I am recommending these actions:

A) I will be completely removed from this game.

All of the alien ships in my fleet will be placed under the control of rebel council if he wishes, or kylethekender.

C) The dreden ships will be given back to skyblade.

Sorry to have incomvenienced your game so much, I can wait til next game to play.

No... I didn't have to because I bypassed that rule. I didn't engage my fleet in actual combat at all... I only engaged Carno's. He had a right to engage, not me. So therefore, I complied with the rules.

Captain Carnotaur came back, you can't command his fleet. Why is the jumpgate invincible? If Skyblade and the Dreden wanted to play "realistically", is invincibility "realistic?" And if the jumpgate is invincible, then what the hell should i do then? I'm trying to preserve my side of the galaxy so the Dreden can pound me and get satisfaction out of it. I can't be shared you know. Ugh.

BariSax, stay. I was only annoyed that you didn't start out on the dredens if you wanted to play for them so much. Frankly I don't give a damn because I'm screwed anyway and you can take part in it if you want.

Am I the only Alien commander here?

Also, Rak, that wasn't my fleet. I was issuing orders to Jager's fleet. And since I'm emperor (of who else?) I can do that!

I suggest giving your entire alien fleet (minus the Dreden ships) back to Rebel Council's command, and you be a squad leader for the Dreden Rebellion. I'll give you command of all the Dreden fighters I gave to the 59th. It's not too much, but you'd be great should we fight as joint fleets... Sound good and fair? Also, if you accept this, we'll move the 59th deep into alien space for the sake of it not being squashed immediately. It needs time to react to our moves.

Kender: No hard feelings. You're doing great. Hopefully RC will be happy to see the 59th still intact and in his command. That last post of yours was excellent, but Mac's rule voids it. :frown: I find it rather dumb that the jumpgate can't be destroyed... After all, the aliens built it.

Haven't used IM i about six months... I got rid of it.

Once again, grunadulator has offered to command an alien fleet. Give him a position if you are that desperate. If Jager doesn't show up soon, contact him regarding the issue.

Ok, if that doesn't help, let's try something else while you try to get things organzied. Let's consider that the Dreden Navy is so worn out following the Battle of Verdica, they've posponed any planned attacks for an entire topic page. During this time, we're preparing to resume our offensive to deliever the final blow. You can form defense measures / preparations during this period, and make a hurried attempt to find additional commanders.

grunadulator, go to mac's homepage for battle for sol and read all about it. Then make yourself a fleet of alien ships that cost a total of 600 million credits and put yourself in the Deus system.

Don't worry. I've already voided it due to webstory rules.

Very clever plan, Kyle, but you'll have to pull something else. Take advantage of what you have... If I remember correctly, there are asteroids about in the system. I can think of plenty of ways to add those to my advantage.
