Almost - you just got a few too many Devil Rays in. Forget to look at the price? I'll just cut those to 120 - that'll give you a legal fleet. Don't worry, you can have more when I hand out ships from our turn one income. 🙂

Okay, you swabs. Since no one else tried I will now describe Mac:
Mac looks like a student. He is almost 5'10" and of average weight for his height. His complexion is clearing up nicely, thank you. (All except for that one spot on his left cheek. It looks perpetually "raw" as it is where he unconsciously rubs his index finger while concentrating on his next several moves on the chess board.) He tried growing his mustache this summer. He gave up after no one noticed for three and a half weeks.
No one would mistake Mac for an athlete -- he just doesn't have that "ripped" look. But he certainly is not fat either.
Mac has the look of permanent eye-strain ... which indeed he has. (Not only does he spend way too much time squinting at his monitor; he also scrutinizes the pictures in National Geographic "just a little too closely.")
His "claim to fame?" Mac can state pi through the first 70 places lickity-split! (And he wonders why the babes do not find this as captivating as he does...!)

    • The Aliens need some more good tactitcians. JChuck has never played in a webstory before, and ElGuapo7 hasn't even showed up. Saint+ left town a while back, and that leaves only RC and me. So much for the "mighty" empire. Carno , Mac, and Skyblade are probably the best players here, and they're all on the same side. It was OK before, but now that Carno showed up... I think we have some serious re-balencing to do.

Carno, please overcome your ego and join the Aliens. This would calibrate the scale's dangerous tilt, and the game would be more enjoyable for all of us.

Most accurate section, though you do seem to be implying that I could be interpreted to be fat. Not bloody likely. 😉

Wow. Wrong, but still uncomfortably close. Did I ever mention to you guys that my parents tell me I tried to teach my kindergarten class fractions? And I did wonder why they didn't get it. 😛

With talk like that you might as well be asking a Rebel zealot to join the Confeds as their president. If you are on the side of the aliens, then I DEFINITELY don't want to join them. I don't play with people who insult me.

    • Homepage updated again. I've added a graphics-less Dreden Weapons yard, reformatted the Homepage itself a bit, and rephrased the restrictions on the Buster Cannon, in case anyone cares. I also added the HC Military Outpost design to our Shipyard. I'm playing around with the rules on those a bit, so I thought I'd bounce a few ideas of you guys. First, as mentioned in the rules, these will be built primarily as refueling stations. Each government gets their own design, which I'd prefer to get before the story starts. They can be built by fleets in a system they occupy. Since it seems like a battlestation would take a significant amount of time to build, I'm considering kicking tradition (for this story) and giving them a build time. Already put that in the HC shipyard entry, but I can take it out if everyone hates this. Basically, the fleet would have to stay in position building the outpost for a number of posts. Additionally, we're considering allowing these to be built in inhabited systems - any thoughts on that, yea or nay?

If the price on the station seems low to anyone, Remember that it can't move. Also, I'm making battlestations exempt from the 4 weapon max rule, as you also may have noticed if you've already peeked in the shipyard. It makes sense that they could carry more.

    • Mac, home.com is down or something. I can't refresh any of my IE Scrapbook entries.

Therefore, I can't make my Outpost design yet, because it probably would be ridiculously over- or underpowered compared to yours. Grr...

    • On military outposts:

(Mac, I'm beginning to think you prefer slowness. Instead, please think "keep the flow of the story ... flowing.")

      a) Outposts should be built instantly by a conquering fleet. We already have the travel restriction that keeps you in the system you conquered for at least one other player's post. So long as uninhabited systems (which don't bring your team credits) are subject to the same travel restriction, that's enough. I don't care if (magically immediate construction) is not "realistic". This is (after all) a game.

🆒 Outposts should only be built in uninhabited systems. (How many hotels do you put on Boardwalk and Park Place?) Outposts in regular or core systems would be ... nuts.

      c) I wish there were fewer rules; not more. The more rules, the less interesting.

The Fallen One Outpost is a massive battlestation, not an outpost. It's supposed to be armed to the death and capable of whooping anyone who comes in its path. They have to taken at least 2 posts to build, otherwise it's a cheat.

They're design to just add to the defense, not just to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Sure, they can be used as outposts, but they can still be built in normal systems as well. No reason why they shouldn't.

I prefer a modest degree of slowness to total anarchy, as was often seen in BfS II. Some anarchy is natural and good, but it got too far out of hand last time. But I suppose outpost building could go faster, perhaps. I'll think about that.

    • And the HC think they can beat us...
      Stargazer-class battlestation
      Shields: 14,000
      Armor: 4,000
      Armament: 100 Tri-photon turrets, 24 LRBM launchers, 2400 LRBM's, 1 Buster Cannon, 6 HNR launchers, 120 HNR's, 80 Ghosts, 30 Lancers, 10 Gunstars.
      Price: $70 million.
(note: the buster cannon isn't affected by the normal restrictions because this is a battlestation. Therefore it is possible to have both the buster cannon and other secondary weapons.)

    • Question: Why is it that pirates currently have no money while the HC have a few million? Last I heard, money left over from fleet building didn't carry over and in any case pirates haven't spent any. We should still have all of our money.
