How come some of the plug-ins I download are locked, how do I can lock them for example, I've got a plug-in called Alien Empire and it is locked with applefile security how do I unlock it?

locked, as in encrypted? or locked as in, select the file and hit get info in the finder and click on lock?

Alien Empire is encrypted using Apple File Security, a feature of OS 9. You need to run OS 9 in order to decrypt the file. Then follow the instructions in the non-encrypted documentation.

If you're running anything earlier than OS 9, you are out of luck.

If and when you email the plug creator - Alex Wouters - to bitterly complain, ask him what he was thinking when he decided to encrypt a plug-in.
