First of all, there is a difference between "Imperialistic" and "Xenophobic." We don't kill everything. Heck, we might even ally with the Dreden. Rome was an Empire. did they kill everything?

Wrong. We hold no grudge against the pirates. We hold a grudge against the Feds. Look at the EV StartScript, you'll see what I mean. The Alliens do know about the HC. Remeber the Alien Cruiser Mission?

So, in "short," you let them come in as your punching bag?

The Dredens don't know the HC exist. They left because they didn't want to get invovlved in a war, and then we captured them. Heck, they were a bunch of Bulk Freighters chock full 'a slaves, how could we resist? 😉

Seriously, the Pirate:Alien Alliance is a possible threat to the HC/Dreden, and a very real one.

    • Yes, but I think Skyblade's point is that the Aliens shouldn't know about the pirates until they meet in the same system. The pirates, during the great war, probably fought against the pirates, but didn't really help the Feds in their own battles. That is, they waged their own, and the aliens considered them feds.

    • No, actually, the pirates (being the brillinat, clever industrialists that they are) took advantage of the situstion and raided the Govmt. Ships. They only went to killing off merchants after the Government told the common citizen that the Renegades were "Evil, revolting people who aren't above pirating the general populace!" Of course, none of that was true, especially (sp) the last part, but the media liked the catchphrase and "Pirates" just sorta stuck. We, at the AE, value that kind of courage and perseverance, so we hope to ally with them.

One last thing: You said we didn't know about the pirates, but we did. Remeber that Alien Cruiser? Who do you think sent it? 😕 😄 😛

    • Heh, kudos to Cyber-Dragon. Seriously, Skyblade, the pirates are a legitimate government and aren't just in as a punching bag. We proved that in BFSII with vastly inferior ships. We'll prove it again if we have to.
Now, I do have to refute the idea that the alien cruiser was ours. However, it did come on a diplomatic mission to us. The slight conflict between us in BFSII was due to a misunderstanding about who killed the cruiser. But a pirate ship managed to communicate the results of our meetings to the aliens thus setting up the alliance.g
