Glad to be of service.

No! That sucks. The hallmark of our pirate tactics has always been our maneuverability and I protest this rule vehemently. I would, however, agree to a rule against (a tactic I was actually planning to use in III) firing on an enemy as you "skip" through a system. In other words, if you shoot, you must stay and exchange at least a cycle of battle-posts with your enemy before bugging out of the system. I detest your rule as stated, Mac.
Hrm. It seems to me that any time you come into a system, the fleet there would see that and start shooting. The main thing was to give the fleet already there a chance to fire, which they should generally get. Maybe we could say that if you do skip through a system, the fleet there would get off at least some kind of salvo at you, knocking out a couple of ships here and there?
I also like the idea, given that, of not firing as you skip through unless sticking around for a round or two.

Well, you may have noticed that I'm willing to negotiate.

No again. Just the opposite. As soon as a system is captured the defense fleet immediately becomes your defense fleet. (And don't even TRY to argue "realism" with me on this one. You people spend hours every week fighting imaginary battles with imaginary enemies in a "made up" galaxy.)
I suppose that also has the virtue of being simple, so agreed.
