    • Belisarius Plug-In

Would anyone be interested in seeing a plug in come out that has a lot of new ships, outfits, and weapons too add to the game. I'll try to make it fair. I have finished the graphics, ships, and outfits & weapons, but no missions (yet) I have some ideas, but I havent had the time yet. I'll try to post it on the Addons section soon, but school takes up so much time. I hope to do it this weekend, and I'll post the missions later. Talk to me.

      Sure. 😛

    • I must admit that I am taking all the graphics from other plugs. Has anyone ever played Merger 1? I took grahics from that, Clavius and Beyond, Frozen Heart(only one or two), Galactic Scourge, and several other plugs not really worth playing. There are 20+ new ships, and a LOT of new outfits. Most of the ships are medium cruisers and fighters. There are a bunch of new beam weapons. Hope to have it done soon. Sorry I wrote out of the space 😄

    • I'm quite sure that you are required to ask permission from the origianl developers for every graphic, and give each of them credit in your ReadMe. If you publish a plugin that is basically a few other plugins slapped together, well... I would hate to be in your shoes.

That is not very nice, and a slap in the face to whoever made those plugins. Now, to give you a little advice, it might not be the greatest idea to use lots of graphics from other plug-ins, because then, even if all of your ideas are great for the missions etc.(I'm assuming that they are), people not like your plug so much because it doesn't have original graphics. I'd offer to do graphics for you if you wanted, but I'm working in graphics for something else right now, sorry.

Don't let what I said though deter you from still making this plug-in. It sounds like it has a lot of potencial. Good luck!

I wrote Merger 1 (which was itself largely a few plug ideas slapped together and given a fresh coat of paint).

I'm sorry that you didn't find it worth playing, but I must say that I'm happy to see my plug mentioned in the same breath as such great plugs as Clavius and Beyond, et al.

Anyway, read Merger 1's read-me file. It should spell out the situation with Merger 1's graphics.

Wow! You wrote that plug? I thought it was really actually pretty good. It just had a few parts, but hey I still liked how it was put together, the plot, and the ships if borrowed were still awesome. If you made an update or newer version I'd download it right away.

I'm glad that you liked it, but there are currently no plans to make an update or sequel. I'm much too busy with Mille Terrae, a TC for EV:O that's been consuming all of my plug-making energy for the last year and a half.

What I meant was that your plug was really good, and that is why I took the graphics. Several other plugs I downloaded weren't really worth playing, because they had pretty bad graphics, with a few good ones, and they had no missions etc, only a few outfits and ships. I've finished some of the new missions, but I still have a lot to go. I'll give it a couple more weeks before posting it. Most, if not all the ships have new stats for them, and that should freshen up old graphics. Gotta go.

    • I tryed E-mailing all the guys that I found responsible for the graphics, and 3 of them couldn't get the message because their severs. I think it's that they don't go by that adress anymore. What do I do now? ( The three are Dan Cragg, Peter Sheperdon, and Adam Randall, who are 3 of the guys that gave graphics for Merger 1)

Dan Cragg didn't make any graphics for the plug. He came up with the concept for the Legion, but the graphics are from Matthew Dailey's free shipyard.

Peter Shepherdson has vanished from the EV/O community. The graphics he designed were custom-made for me, so I see no reason that you can't use them. Make sure you credit him.

Adam Randall has also apparently disappeared. His graphics, however, were part of his own (unreleased) plug-in before they were in Merger 1. I can't in good conscience tell you to use them without first getting his permission.

The bulk of the graphics came from free shipyards. As such, even if the shipyards no longer exist, the graphics should still be usable. Others may disagree, and I'm no lawyer.

      Good luck with your plug.
