Okay, Captain Skyblade, here's the next installment in the Dreden Fleet, the Dreden "Hawk" Gunship! The torpedo launcher is underneath the hull, and the plasma stinger pods are on the fins. All of the plasma cannons are also on the fins. Because of the way that the weapon systems are lined up, it is possible to fire all weapons at the same time, without any conflicts. The torpedo launcher underneath can swivel a total of 360 degrees, allowing it to fire in any direction. Well here she is:

Next, we'll need a "Destroyer" graphic. Something with about the power of a Rebel Destroyer from Escape Velocity. If you like, you can even make the general design similar to the Rebel Destroyer, since the Dreden left the Milky Way with knowledge of the ship's design. Only if you do decide to use the design, make sure it looks more up-to-date in terms of technology, and maybe a more sleeker look. The Destroyer will be the Dreden's smallest capital warship. In terms of armament, this is what I had in mind: 4 Plasma Beam Cannons, 4 Plasma Beam Turrets, 2 Plasma Torpedo Launchers, 10 Plasma Torpedoes, 1 Rocket Launcher, 10 Plasma Rockets.

Okay, Captain Skyblade, here she is, the Dreden "Thunderclap" class Destroyer. It's design is based around the HC destroyer. The stock model of it doesn't hold any fighters, but captains can choose to hold up to 4 interceptors in it, if they sacrifice some of their weapons systems, that is. The design is very durable, and the hull has been tested to remain intact after slamming into a 1000 ton cement block at 1000 miles per hour, but barely. Because of this, some of the more bold captains like to use the old fassion technique of ramming with the destroyer. Well, there she is:

I've updated pretty much all of the BFS III stuff, including new Dreden ships (not the Destroyer yet, of course ). Go take a look at it all on the (url="http://"http://members.home.net/e-gamerguy1/ev/bfs3/")homepage(/url). And I do mean everything, the only things that hasn't changed a bit are the two maps.

I'm still working on what will probably be the last HC ship, and it's a pain. I talked to Clueless about it a little, and he says I've managed to bump myself into one of the most difficult aspects of modeling on my third scene. Damn I'm good. Hopefully I can get that done in the next couple days, and then I can pick out my fleet and work on that map update mentioned on the page.

One other thing for Azdara Ace and you other modeler people - If you could render new ships at 200x200, so I don't have to mess with them, it would be helpful. Anything square would be an improvement over 320x240, really.

Oh and if I haven't given them already , my compliments go out to you, Mac, for the superb website, and I would like you to remember me saying this when you are assigning fleets to your various commanders

Oh, probably something like that yes. But most likely not tonight - I'm actually getting somewhere with the Hammerhead Gunship graphic, so I want to concentrate on that a bit. Now if I could only figure out precisely which weapons to fill the last couple of slots with...

I should hope not! Considering we are supposed to be allied, unless I'm missing something in here somwhere. The facts as I know it are thus: Me and Mac make up a part of the Human Confederation, you beign the ship designer for the Dreden, I have made the assumption that you will also fly their flag from your ships, the Dreden and HC beign allies, us meeting in battle would be a most unenjoyable thing.
