      Actually, by my calculations, one salvo from the turrets wouldn't destroy a scimitar, much less even a Freedom Cruiser. Although, if you want to play that game, one salvo from my Carrier's Turrets would blow right through the shields of your Macross, and the second would kill it. 😛

      Hmm, maybe we underestimated the HC Carrier's turrets a bit in BFS II...

      But don't worry, after thinking a while about my Carrier and some things, I think I've got my finger on the weakness of all rediculously large ships like that. Trust me spl, there are ways. 😉

    • Just noticed something Macavenger. The Carrier has thousands of turrets and shields comparable to the Macross'. The Macross has only a few hundred turrets and some more armor and a thousand less fighters yet it costs 20 million more. Obviously something needs to change here. The carrier needs to be priced a heck of a lot higher or we need to multiply the turrets, LRBM's, and HNR's, by 5-10. It is seriously unbalanced the way you are pricing it. If we keep the current stats the carrier should end up around 6-8 hundred million.

      Actually, that just got updated, although the news isn't all that great for you. When looking at the Carrier stats, I realized they were really crazy, and that we haven't been giving it credit for being that good. So, I hacked the stats off to closer to what it was being treated like, and it's more realistic now too. Since I basically took it down to where it should have been, I only clipped the price by 10 mil. Mind you, that's after removing over half it's firepower. Taken that way, the Macross really looks sick compared to the Carrier (300 TP turrets are better than 500 Turbolasers, I admit, and the other is good too), the Macross is clearly much stronger, so I had to run the price on it up to compensate. I also took the liberty of reducing its speed to 100, on the assumption that that extra 50 points of speed wouldn't be worth what it would cost you. You can have it back if you really want it, but... you don't.

    • Would you mind posting the stats of the quad turbolaser? I have a hard time believing that 300 tri-photon quick the crap out of 500 quad turbo enough to justify the hike to 220 million. I presume that there will be an exemption to the rule about 200 million max on a ship type. Doesn't seem fair if an entire ship class is completely disallowed to us while everyone else gets their huge humongus ship class. I know have a picture of the macross.     • First, it isn't the Quad Turbo, just Turbolasers. I've abandoned the Quad Turbolaser Turret.

      Turbolaser Turrets have the same damage as a Proton (12.5/12.5, RE), longer range, and greater inaccuracy. Tri-Photon (or TP or Toilet Paper 😛 ) Turrets, according to the stats I remember, are 27/14.25 RE. I'm not sure about range or inaccuracy, but to be a good fighter weapon they'd have to be decent in those two. Totals for the turrets:
      Carrier: 6250/6250
      Macross: 8100/4275
      About equal in overall damage, but higher against shields, which are more common.

      The main thing in that price isn't the turrets though, it's the LRBMs and HNRs. With all the heavy homing sh*t the Macross carries, two of them could decimate three carriers in a fighterless battle. Fighter capacity doesn't count for a lot when determining price on these ships, since the fighters must be purchased separately. It counts some, fo course, just not a lot. Don't forget also that you have twice the armor and better speed.

      BUT ... our wimpy 56k modems really bog down when trying to download your fancy system maps. Would you please add "simple" line drawing type maps to assist our primitive technologies? It would greatly help.

      I was going to suggest that to Skyblade, but I think you saved me the trouble.

      You don't have any problem with the shipyards right? I've kept all of those graphics under 10k by making them smallish GIFs.

      I said the TP turrets were that powerful? In that case, you're probably right, two Macross could destroy three Carriers in a fighterless battle. Hey, people, they're BattleFortresses, remember? It's not like we're supposed to have ten of them...

      Unless my memory has failed, you did. But I will say that my memory is excellent with statistics. I know virtually all the relevant (and some irrelevant) stats from both EV and Starcraft off the top of my head. 😄

    • The price is ok. If any pirate wants one for their starting fleet, take it, but remember that you will only have $280M credits left.

      Bleh. /Me longs for the day when cable and fiberoptics become standard internet connection./ 😉

      I created the entire Sentarus map for this webstory, and it ate about four (or even five) hours of my time. Don't tell me you just want it thrown away from the webstory? If the connection speed is taking you forever to load the map, download the image to your hard drive and open it in Simpletext when you need it. That's what I do. Next time I develop some graphics for a webstory, I'll keep your suggestion in mind. Thanks.

    • Not thrown away - just the complicated background removed. Wouldn't that be on a separate Photoshop layer?

      Downloading it to his harddrive doesn't work so well in the game when it's being updated.

      Of course, our cable didn't help much when loading it from f2s. Tried loading it off my server, Skyblade? Bet it goes faster for you. 😉
