Alright. UE Crusader would actually be my first pick (since he was an excellent player in BFS II), but I'm not sure if he's still in this. So for the moment, let's just leave the matter up in the air until he posts, or doesn't post...

    • I'll do graphic work for the Dreden as well, if you guys want. Speaking of graphics, I have some concept art for the (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/spl_cadet/ghost.html")Ghost(/url)-class interceptor. Yes, I know it needs textures. The only problem so far is that I know it needs something, towards the back of it, but I just can't figure out what.

    • Alright then, I assume I'm taking overall charge in that case?

I can eMail UE Crusader and get some stuff rolling here, if you guys want. No offense Jimbob, but since we've seen him work before, he'd be my choice for Dreden pres. too.

I can probably arrange for graphics to get kicked the Dreden's way. The plan was to start with Skyblade's old Dreden graphics, and I'm fairly certain I can arrange something well before you need any more.

I'll also put together a list of players that appear to be in this by government, so government leaders can start contacting your people.

Let's see, what else do we need... I've already got a BFS site infrastructure up. I'll also remake the maps within a couple of days, and they'll be simple line drawing type things, for those with weak modems. 😉

spl_cadet, I think your Ghost needs engines. 😉

    • Mac: Sounds like you've got good control over the situation. BFS III is all yours now, take care of it.

Agreed about the Ghost needing image, though the model is cool.

    • cadet, I have a "funtionality" question about the Ghost. How does it land?

Unless it has some kind of "gear" which retracts it looks like the two wing tips and the nose would take the stress of supporting the craft.

(I know this is not really important. I just wondered.)

Well, it doesn't really land. It actually has to be carried by a ship, it has only 50 fuel according to the original stats. However, the Macross and Halberd class ships are equipped with docking clamps. I might eventually make an image showing these in action.

    • Could one of the pirates post the names and locations of the extra systems you guys added onto the BFS II map? I'm redoing the Milky Way map basically from scratch, and while I have an old copy of the BFS II map, they aren't all labeled. I can post that if it would help to see it again.

So far, the new map is about 60k including all of OS X's file tags and stuff. I figure that will probably drop to 20-30 or so when I upload it. 🙂

Just make up some stuff. We won't notice the difference. We didn't even find all of our systems.

    • A fearsome (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/spl_cadet/ghost.html")Ghost(/url)-class interceptor bears down on its prey as it's tri-photon cannons charge, ready to blast it's quarry into oblivion.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I've posted an updated picture for the Ghost-class interceptor. Within the week I'll probably make a new pic where a group of them is attacking some other starfighters. Would anyone be interested in hosting such a pic for the EV Image Gallery? Geocities doesn't let me, the bastards.

    • A wooden fighter?!? LOL! Well, it worked for the British in WWII, but this is a bit different...

I'll probably update the Pirate Shipyard soon.

As soon as I find some good metal textures then I'll change it. As it is, wood is one of the best textures. It looks pretty good, with the case of this one it isn't too obvious that it is wood, and it is great for making organic/alien looking ships.

Besides, from what I remember of the Ghost's stats, the wood being the armor makes sense.

    • I thought it was pretty obvious... 😛

I also have another rules idea that I thought I'd run by you guys before unilaterally implementing it. First off, I am including uninhabited systems in the BFS III maps, no more taking over the Vulcan system. 😉 I'm thinking that perhaps fleets should be able to establish a military outpost in an uninhabited system which it's in, for a fee of something like 5-10 million. This would just be a limited military outpost, capable basically of refueling, repairing, rearming, and delivering military ships. It would have a light defense fleet or probably a few fighters come with it, but not ebough to do a whole lot. The base would not generate revenue, so you couldn't just go around making bases all over to get more money later. I can mark that easily on the map, so that wouldn't be a problem. I'm thinking this might be particularly useful in the Sentarus Galaxy, because with so many systems there, I'll probably make a pretty good number of them uninhabited to keep some revenue balance between the HC and Aliens. Thoughts?

So you want ouposts to cost ~500 million? Well, I can do that for the pirate ones, if you want, but I think I'll leave a smaller defense at mine to keep costs down. 😛

These ships are, of course, the ouposts defense fleet, and not for transfer to your fleet.

Alternatively, I could make it so that you can leave a section of your fleet to act as the defense, or something...

    • I have a finished Milky Way map, so the pirates can have some idea where they stand now. This will probably be final unless I get overwhelming protest from the pirates or something. I've also updated the Pirate Shipyard, and went ahead and put my pic for the Skyblade in the HC shipyard even though it's not really done yet, since I still don't have replacement textures from Skyblade.

You can see all this at (url="http://"http://members.home.net/e-gamerguy1/ev/bfs3/")The BFS III Homepage(/url).

What's up with the squares in the Milky Way Galaxy? The yellow ones represent capitals but I don't know what the dark orange/blue one's represent.
