I'm playing EVGE,and i'm looking for the missions to get Proximan Birds of Prey.
I have an ultimate combat rating,and I'm a decent individual in Alpha Proxima.
What do I need to do?

I never figured that one out, which is too bad becasue the Proximan Battlecruiser is the best ship you can buy. In the end I just opened up EV Edit and put the starting mission on a planet.
Of course once the string starts you have to find a particular pirate, and they don't tell you where he is. He's a long way from Alpha Proxima.

The missions come from some derelict ship I think - although I never found it. Like Myriad I just moved the mission to Alpha Proxima.
The pirate you have to find is also absolutely miles away - somewhere in the bottom left of the map i think. Even after doing the mission, you only get the Bird Of Prey, not the Battlecruiser.

To find the pirate, first you have to go to the southern portion of the galaxy, in the former Alien, now confed systems. I haven't played in a while, but I think it's on the planet where you can buy Alien cruisers and seeker drones in the outfitter. You'll meet someone who'll tell you where to go, a pirate system in the northern part of the galaxy. You're also under a deadline.
As for the Battlecrusier, you can get it, and I remeber it not being that hard. It may not be available after that particular mission though.

Sounds good.
I went to Maia,and got out by helping the Aliens to plant an ops team on Sophilia.
I got Proton Disruptors for my Condor at that point.

Wow, looks like people haven't played EVGE in a while...
So...to join the Proximans, you have to come across a disabled Proximan Bird of Prey (hint: it's in the Tularia system inside Orion space) and help them out. Since it's a pers, it won't appear very often; you'll have to keep taking off and landing again and again; should take a while.
Have fun.
BTW, can't you get proton disrupters any time in the game? I mean that you don't help the aliens to get that...

And also since its a përs, I don't believe it will ever show up unless you started a new pilot file with EVGE installed the way the readme says to.

Actually, it is located in Talaria, which is located inside the sparsely settled southern region. From there it connects to the Andwafa system. Those be the systems where wounded birds lay from time to time. Oh and Firebird was right, you can buy proton disruptors as long as you know where to buy them.
