The BattleStar stopped suddenly. It's huge Lockheed-Stephanouston hyperdive engines hummed, ready to push the immense vessel out of the sytem if needed. Commander Luke had sent a probe into the space-time hole. It's information was being sent back to the BattleStar, but the ship would never receive the signal, for the probe had come out too far away for the comm sytems of the time to pick up. Fifteen seconds after the probe sent the useless signal, it ceased to exist...

In the Thakjin system, a probe suddenly appeared. Alien scouts gathered around to observe it, but it suddenly stopped functioning. A Sloth towed it back to the alien capital system of Kajana for reverse-engineering...

Jimbob boarded his M. freighter and launched from Liberty Station. He looked at the stars, amazed to have so much resposbility. Maybe I shouldn't be doing this he thought to himself. Well, he had to now, and he had fleet behind him, so e figured he could pull it off. Flipping a switch, he went into hyperspace...

Back in Sol, Grand Marshal Winthrop studied a weak signal. It was a small freighter exiting hyperspace

"This is the Jimbob, callsign Nitroglicerine. Request access to docking bay five-" a loud explosion suddenly rocket the freighter. A massive pirate fleet had entered the system.

Winthrop was stunned! How had this behemothic fleet surpassed his rigid defensive and sensory grid. His thoughts were interupted when a massive fireball soared a few over his head. Hundreds of heavy rained into the sides of the station. The Grand Marshal dove into an escape pod and ejected from the station. He observed as an astounding battle raged above his head. His fleets were suffering heavy losses, as almost a quarter of Defense Dock Theta was engulfed in flames.

Combined with supporting fire from Earths defensive grid, the pirates were battered into submission. As the fire died down, a lone lightning noticed an SFD escape pod serenly sitting in space. With a burst of fire that would go down in history as the shot that one the war, the escape pod, and Winthrop, were blown to oblivian.

Those were "pirates" who's goal is to be uncovered in later plot lines. Winthrop died by random chance, 1/4 of Defense Dock Theta is destoyed, Jimbob is safe ;), and the second SDF fleet is destroyed.

Jimbob looked at what had been done to Theta. It was ludicrus! 25% percent of the station gone in one attack. Not to mention a ton of defense fleets, including some of Jimbob's. Docking was tough, since most of the docks were gone or damaged. He finally found one, picked up the supplies, and jumped out.

The job of intelligence officer didn't seem to be too demanding at the moment, the only concern at the moment was some strange spacial anomaly, but Zaff figured those appeared rather often out here, else this crew was disciplined enough to hide their exitement. Zaff had so far gotten along quite well with his commanding officer, Commander Luke, and so far joining the Navy was everything he'd hoped it would be.

The jumpgate in NGC-1091 suddenly started glowing again. Without warning, an alien scout fleet came through the gate, which then fell silent. The fleet was composed of one Behemoth-class star destroyer, one Gorgon-class carrier, six Vampires, and four Darkwings. There were also four sloth freighters with them.

A large pirate fleet, ostensibly looking for asteroid mines, entered the system. It was composed of four Kestrels, eight Corvettes, eight Lightnings, and five Rapiers. Scared out of their wits by the looming aliens, they immediately started firing. The aliens fired off seeker drones in rapid succession. When most of the pirate fleet had been decimated, the carrier fired off one weapon. It looked like an ancient alien fighter, but it was unmanned. Instead, it carried ten tons of tek, a potent alien explosive.

The kamikaze slammed into the two remaining pirate Kestrels, destroying both of them and a nearby Corvette. The pirate fleet then was finished off by the aliens, who had lost but one Vampire. The aliens then headed out of the system, towards the rest of the galaxy...

Thinking he could finally relax, he noticed a poster on the wall saying he was Fleet Admiral of the 8th Trading Fleet, and Head of Trading and Economics. Knowing A new fleet would be with him, he began looking for newly appointed Supreme Commander Rak to ask about his jobs.
