    • You are absolutly right (on most occasions). I have tried, MULTIPLE TIMES, to persuade my father of the exact same thing you said. It didn't work. He believes that all Arabs should die, just to kill Osam bin Lada (did I say that right?). I tried to convince him of it, but he wouldn't listen. I also tried the "You'd die from a nuclear winter too, Dad" tactic, but he said he didn't care, at least his grandchildren would not have to go through this. Which is pretty stupid, seeing as how I would die too, so it's unlikely he'd have any grandchildren. However, he was really angry when I talked to him on the phone, so that probably inspired his actions, because he's usually a calm, rational, and reasoning person.

Yes, I am very well aware that there are other ways to blow stuff up besides a hijacked plane, but the goverment is well aware of that to, and they're doing all that they can to raise security and make sure somebody doesn't drive a greyhound bus on a rampage through Chicago or something.

As to your thing on the children, they probably don't understand what they're doing, and if they do, kill them. For every innocent American life, 100 Arabic soldiors should die. Both of us are right, there ARE people trying to leave the country and all of its evil and predjudice, and there are also people who think they're in the promised land, and they are proud to be a palistine. It is unfair to be so judgemental and kill them all, regardless of their belief or political allignment. Now, if I could convince my Dad of that...

However, I'm not saying we shouldn't use military force. I just think it's unfair to blow the place to smithereeens, without so much a care of what other civillians died with them. In my opinion, I'd make SURE that I knew who did it, because if you went to war with someone, won, and killed millions of people, only to discover that it was some guy who was connected to the Oklahoma City bombing, having nothing to do with the people you just killed. That'd be a pretty pickle for Uncle Scam, wouldn't it? So, I would be COMPLETLY sure. I would then send diplomatic realtions, kindly but firmly demanding the execution of the perpatrators and that of any assistants or followers, and if the Afganys declined (or didn't reply), I'd send the same message, only this time with a continual 50 batalion of 50 warbirds, armed with cruise missles. Set up a shift system, make sure that there are ALWAYS 50 there, and if they don't concede within a month, evacuate civilians in Apache's, and then blow the whole place to hell.

Maybe you missed this on the news. It wasn't just the children. They were all out partying in the streets, waving flags, firing guns in the air, passing out candy , for God's sake - it was like - like... THE MOST INSANE GODDAMN **** I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

    • Although I agree with your sentiments,I feel obliged to point out that violence is not the answer.
Destroying Palestine for the actions of a small Palestinian terrorist group will do nothing.
Granted, this celebration they were throwing seems inhuman while innocent civilians are suffering, but my local newspaper quoted some of the palestinians as saying they were "Really happy because America was finally paying the consequences of it's actions",i.e.,supporting Israel.
I'm asking you all to think before you support a third world war, because blind revenge will not solve anyone's problems.
I do,however, understand your feelings, and I symahise with you and the entirety of the American nation.

I understand that Palestinian police stoped it, but I'll never see them in the same light. If it weren't for the fact that firing a nuke would touch off a holocaust, I'd be all for
shoving a couple right down their throats.
(Pardon my craziness above, if you can't tell, I'm rather pissed at them)

    • Maybe we missed one point here - what I'm saying is after we find out exactly who did it, and applies only to them. I'm not in favor of WW III. And Shade, I think your perspective is a bit different than mine in this case, because your country hasn't just been attacked on it's home soil for the first time in 60 years.

    • Apologies if you think I have anything but the greatest smpathy for the American people.
Although I am not,as you know,an American citizen,I beleive that Osama bin Laden,or whoever commited this attack, deserves to die.
His life is not worth those of the thousands of innocent citizens who have died.
      I do,however,disagree with attacking Palestine.
Although I see entirely your viewpoint,
Osama bin Laden's group does not, cannot,be the majority of the Palestinians.
Although the actions of those Palestinian citizens immediately after the crash is inhuman and macabre, they deserve to be reeducated, not killed.

Good point. His life isn't worth it, and we shouldn't attack all the Palestinians. There does need to be some action upon this.

    • Thankyou,Jimbob.
I'm very scared right now-people over here are saying that if it turns out to be bin Llama, which is likely, and if he has Afghanistanese support, which is also likely, the US will declare war on Afganistan, and Pakistan for not offering their condolences or something.
      I don't like war.

    • I'm American. But I really don't want to go to war. It would be horrible. But with Bush, you never know...

    • Grr... I had a lengthy discourse on this subject, and it got lost in their "routine maintenance"...

Anyway, it went something like this:

First, I've been kinda waffling around emotionally and on what to do about this whole thing. I was at a peak when posting last night. I'd just been reading through stuff on B&B;, remembering the scenes and stuff, and I was really mad right then. Anyone who expects me to have a rational viewpoint then should give me their location, so I can look up a map and give you directions to the nearest place to get your head fixed. I've backed well off nuking the Palestinians even if we could now. However, the shots of them dancing in the streets, firing guns, and tossing candy is probably the most despicable thing I've ever seen - which includes a many hours long, highly detailed slide show on the holocaust. I am certain that I will never have any sympathy for them when Israel kicks their ass in response to terrorism.

There's also no proof yet that bin Laden did this, but a mountain of circumstantial evidence is beginning to assemble. He denies being involved, yet praises the attack. Doesn't surprise me, yet points out his evil.

I also have no problem with Bush going to war on Afghanistan to get bin laden if it turns out to be him. They've has been harboring him, for crying out loud! The Taliban needs to be removed from power if not killed on general principles anyway. Their human rights record looks sorta like China's from a decade or so ago. I don't know if you know any of what they've done, and I doubt I know all of it, and don't want to.

There have been a few minute positives out of this whole thing though. The US Congressmen all coming together at that Press Conference and singing "God Bless America" is probably the most moving thing I've seen. I sincerely hope it was spontaneous, not planned, though we'll never know for sure.

    • Humm...mostly true.
I've been thinking about this, and I think that the first priority really needs to be recuing the survivors.
There are still people trapped under there, they've apparently been ringing out on their cellphones.
After we have the victims out, then the US can concentrate on finding the bastard who did it.

      What was that?

Oh, and on the rescuing, of course that must continue. But it doesn't really overlap much with the other, and is proceeding, so I've mostly ignored that. It's the most important, but I guess at this point, I've seen ops like that enough that I just take that part for granted.

BTW, I suggest moving this discussion to BB8.

    • Hmmmm... I agree. It gets quite annoying posting this complicated, emotional discussion in TWO inappropiete places at once. 😉 Anyway, what was the image? You can download a quicktime movie of the plane hitting the trade center. That's pretty sick. Some of my friends thought it was cool. I re-instructed all of them but one, who loved seeing the plane hit the building. After repeated attempts, he is no longer my friend.

Shade, do you live in the UK?

In conclusion, this is getting off topic, and I suggest we all go (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/001781-6.html")here(/url) to discuss it. There are many topics on the just chat board, but I would prefer that it be kept in Boozerama. I can't post in just chat. However, we are working on the E-Mail thing. Should be ready by Thanksgiving. In 3005 (J/K 😉 ).

    • Don't get me wrong, I'm as upset as all of you are. I live 40 minutes from Lower Manhattan. However, I'm gonna attempt to get this back on topic.

Anybody heard word from Skyblade on his Dreden graphics work?

    • I like your new, "from," though I would put, "Cittagazze" if I were you... When I make mine, I'll probably refer to the chronicles, because thats who my character is based on, after all. I just liked the name, "Lyra" and since it isn't really a Š, then I can use it in the 'boards and my chronicle.

We're trying to get it back on topic too. Boozerama 8 is still open for that type of discussion, and we have talked about it some there.

Dreden graphics... bad. Skyblade has apparently suspended his work on BFS III in favor of working on his new graphics sets. He's offered to let me run this instead, and I would, except he never got beyond those first two ships, and until he finishes a basic set, we can't do much. I've been spitting at him a bit, hopefully he'll take time to finish those after he gets the UE graphics done, whenever that is.

Now look, I don't have tons of free time on my hands, so I can't make graphics for everyone immediately. The reason I have put things like my Saber Studio Graphics ahead of BFS III is because such things are in much higher demand at the Ambrosia forums. I always put work ahead of play, and BFS III currently seems more like a play topic (though it is a blast ;)) than work. Maybe once I finish the United Earth set, I'll consider finishing up the Dreden Rebellion vessels...
