Lets say I capture the RSS Vigilant.

Will the ship's specials (higher sheilds, extra weapons), be transfered when I capture it? Is there any special bonus for capturing it?

Nope. All përs ships lose their special stats when captured by the player. Andrew Welch becomes a normal luxury liner, and Nostromo becomes a normal Kestrel. That's just the way it is.

To have a ship with it's own special stats you would have to give it it's own shďp resource. Knid of like 'The Nadir' in EV:O. It appeared to be an ordinary Turncoat, but it had a unique resource and therefore unique stats.

Rak, I remember "assuming" the specials were mine in that situation. I rapidly captured two pers ships, went into battle, and watched both of them get blown away by ... Rapiers. Yuck!

From the looks of Nova, escorts will certainly prove their stuff. They'll be much more aggressive (if given the command), and you can even outfit them as well...

Aaahhhh! No, no! You can't outfit them! For the last time, you pay them money and they outfit themselves - in practical terms, they get replaced with a different, presumably better (though with Frandall around you can't be sure) ship type. Probably similar sprites, better weapons type thing. But you can't upgrade them yourself. Quit confusing the poor newbies that way! :mad:

It really will be good to be able to do extra crap with your escorts. I get so sick of not being able to do anything complicated with them. In nova they fly in formation and can be assigned to different roles fore example they can attack only fighters (I think) if you want them to or protect your ships. I'm not sure, so don't quote me on that.

I wonder if persons will keep their stuff after capture in Nova... It wouldn't be good to have people running around with disco bisons or anything...

Yes, they have called it a package. However, there's only one per ship, so there really isn't a choice.

What if you capture a ship, then keep it for yourself? Will your old ship still have it's upgrades? That would be cool.

No, it reverts to the standard ship of whatever type it was.
