Because it takes time to recover between runs. On one run, you can either get in 1 space bomb or 2. Because shields recover quickly, you want to maximize how fast you can get the ammo to the target. Also, you use only one torpedo launcher? Then you must be with the Rebels?

Me too, they are also the 2nd most efficient secondary.

Look, would you rather have more firepower over the long run, or less firepower in the short run?

I usually spearhead, and the Neutron Cannons provide a solid punch.

Yes, you can. However, it takes a long time!

You go back to pirate worlds/ruby that often?

    • I never use space bombs, mainly because I use Corvettes, which generally do not have enough free mass for them. They could be useful in a Kestrel, though.

    • This is really starting to degenerate into something similar to the age-old conflicts of Confeds v. Rebels or "Which ships is best?" In this case it depends on which ship you tend towards, which weaponry you prefer, and what your basic strategy is.

As for hitting pirate worlds and Ruby often, I don't. I most often hit Spica for them since for some reason I kept routing through there.

    • I have a Rebel Cruiser with 4 proton turrets, 5 proton cannons, 2 laser cannons, shield upgades, and a bunch of other upgrades that don't take up any space. With 2 mass expansions, I can fit 1 rack and 8 bombs. I only use them against Confed capital ships, because they are such a precious commodity. The only reason I need them is because of those enormous cruisers. Torpedoes just don't pack enough of a punch. Besides a Manta Bay and a tractor beam, bombs are the only secondary weapons I use. I'm all for 'em.
