    • I'm a bounty hunter! My organization is like the universal militia! I'm against the pirates! We (i'll be refering to my self and the company like that) have over a 100 Rebel ships and 150 Confed ship. Over 300 civilian battle (better that argosy )ships who are greately angred by the presence of pirates and will do anything to destroy them, and are not affraid to die for the cause!

(This message has been edited by rebel council (edited 07-27-2001).)

    • OK, since the aliens and confeds are aligned with the pirates, I assume RC doesn't like them either. OK, that settles it, I'm alliance of emires. Now, we can get started.

"Sir, we now have adapted all alien technology to all ships." "Good," Insano said. The AoE would soon be able to make it's move. Ship numbers were climbing. Pirate numbers were approaching 300. Confederate numbers were approaching 200. Alien numbers were approahing 200 as well. If you don't say these numbers are realistic, think about it. I think there are more than 300 pirate ships. All remaining confed ships, not one fleet, but all ships. The aliens have regrouped and are coming back. In full source. Considering this is the extent of ALL of the AoE, not just one fleet, I think this is more than reasonable. But, I'm sure more will come. Of course, these numbers do not include fighters. "What new technologies have the aliens brought from their galaxy?" Insano asked. "A transporter, an advanced one." "Explain." "We can now transport anything in a ships cargo hold onto our own ships. With a little tweaking, we might be able to transport weapons as well." "Wonderful, soon we too will have all rebel technolgy."

    • Um, I don't think so on the transporter. You can have a transporter, but you can't beam weapons off my ships. That's like beaming pieces off them. No. You can use it for anything realistic you want, I'm not griping about beaming cargo or troops around between your ships, but no beaming parts off enemy ships.

So, RC is on my side, I guess.

I'd guess that by this point the Rebels have a at least couple hundred Supercruisers. If this sounds unreasonable, consider that we've currently got about 80 in BfS, and more than that are supposed to be finished in a week or two. You've certainly got your work cut out for you i that regard, I don't think even alien tech will save you, without some major advances.

    • How about how it is in Star Trek? You can beam stuff out, but only on unsuspecting ships. Beaming can be counteracted by any sort of jammer. Deal? Or, if you still won't let me do that, how about just cargo?

    • One more thing I forgot to post. I'm gonna be able to probably post once tomorrow, but, I'm gonna be gone until mid-late sunday. Will you be able to surive without me?

    • He he, three posts in a row. I just thought of something.

Transporter tech may be more important than I thought. Even without being able to take things off enemy ships. It will eliminate the need for all shuttles, freighters, and cargo space. The result: more resources for building war capable ships, and more room for weapons. No need for the risk of important cargo or documents being intercepted while on the way from one system to another. One more tech. I think this already exists, but here it is again. Anti-capture. Every ship is programed to self-destruct when it has 10 armor left, unless overridden by the captain of the vessel. If this is overridden, and the ship is disabled, it will also self-destruct when anything enters the ship.

Now, I'm going into politics. The AoE did a little hacking and broadcasted a transmission on all major frequencies. I don't care if they're lies, it's all about the people. "The Rebellion. You thought they were always honorable and had your best interests in mind. You were wrong. Here is video (footage starts) of Rebels torturing and executing confederate soldiers. Did not they say they never tortured their captives? The Rebellion will also raise taxes. Did not you also hear that with the fall of the Confederation, taxes will drop significantly? Now, with the Rebellion fighting the AoE, they will make drafts more frequent than ever before. Do you want your children to go to war? And, if the AoE wins this one, the pirates will become legitimate members of the military. Contact your planet's government. Make your planet join the AoE, for your own good. ---Yes. I don't like anyone except the other Pirate captains who have resisted joining the AoE. We only have about 250 ships, so we'll be lying low for a while.---

The King looked down at his secret operations ship yard and outfitting center. Once the pirates of Evildrome defected to the weak and simple Alliance, all of a pirate's favorite ships and outfits were secretly moved by the King to his moon, New Antigua. The only Pirate center not giving everything to the AoE! The King spat in the dirt. How he despised the Alliance!

His engineers were working on a new fighter, and they told him eventually they could even make a new Cruiser-class ship, but it would take a while. The King considered this a gross understatement. "Sir?" a messenger approached the king cautiously.

"Yes, what is yeh pile of parrot droppings?"

"Um, Sir, the engineers need to speak with you."

The King perked up his ears.

      "Are they finished? This early?"

"Yes, sir. And... well, you should come see."

The King got up and followed the messenger.

"Ah, Your Highness, come look at our creation!" The King stared, mouth open slightly. The messenger had led the King to a little hole-in-the-wall ship "garage." And sitting on a raised platform in the middle of the area was an Alien fighter. But it wasn't the red-and-black, rounded fighter of the Great War. This was from another cicivlization.

    • OK, Luke, so if the AoE and the Rebels were fighting each other and you jumped in, who would you attack? If you could only attack one.

    • Can every one post who they are and their enemies!

While choas spread through out the known galaxy RC took advantage by raiding Evildome. The two Rebel cruisers that he was comanding approched evildome.
"Sir, we are approching evildome what do you whan't us to do"
"Alright get us closer to that moon and as soon as we are in range fire at all the pirate ships!"
      "Yes sir"
As the cruisers approched the planet five pirate Krestels took off from evildome. Swiftly attacking the ecourt ceruiser. The two cruisers where able to smash two of the krestels but the ecourt cuiser was too weak to withstand the other 3! Seeing the sister ship go down in flames and the shield plumeting RC's ship Surpent afterburned out of the dog figth making another pass on a Krestel and derstroying it! The other Krestels gave chase with astonishing speed!
RC:"Come, on get us out of here,NOW!!"
"Sir, the autojump system was damaged!"
      "SO!!"
"Sir, I don't know the jump codes!!"
RC fliped up the dash panel in front of him and pressed "Jump Codes"
      -enter jump code-
RC started madly pressing every numberd button on the panel!Code after code in was denied, denied, denied! Finally RC entered -00001- -denied- flashed again. RC smashed the controll panel with his fist and finaly -accepted-.
"Get us the hell out of here"

Admiral Macvenger was now a 5 star Admiral, in charge of all operations in the Core Worlds and surrounding areas. He watched the news release from the AoE, and began jotting notes on paper. After it was finished, he tapped his pencil on the paper for a bit, then called his old friend Admiral Skyblade, chief of the Rebel Core Sector.

"Macavenger, nice to see you again. What's up?"

"What do you think? You just watched that fake news release from the AoE, right?"

"Yes. Off hand, I haven't thought of much to do about it yet."

"Well, I have, but that's not really why I'm calling. I'm thinking that the AoE is going to be a nuisance, and we should move as soon as possible to curb them a bit."

Skyblade scratched his head. "Don't you think that would further inflame public sentiment?"

"Not if we do it right. The key is that the AoE draws a lot of support from the pirates, and they're always a legitimate target. A blow to the pirates now could be a blow to the AoE. I suggest you take a task force of Supercruisers and Assault Carriers, maybe even one of the new big carriers, and attack Pirate's Cove."

"That could work. Pirate's Cove would constitute a very real threat to the peace in that area, wouldn't it?"

"Exactly. Better yet, it's cut off from their main bases of support, so the chances of them being able to reinforce it are roughly nil. The AoIW laws apply to them now too, I believe, which makes it much harder for them."

"Right. Plan is sound. I'll do it. Are you going to be handling the political side?"

"For now. If Pirate's Cove was even near my area of influence, I'd be going there myself and kicking the pirates and giving you my political thoughts."

"OK. I'll let you know how it went when we get back."

After refining his notes somewhat, Macavenger scheduled an emergency meeting with the govenor. After bringing Presiden Navarone in on the FTL holophone, Macavenger's lan was approved with some slight modifications, and an ISN broadcast was scheduled for 1800 hours that evening.

      ============

"This is ISN, the Interstellar News Network. In response to the AoE broadcast earlier today, the Rebellion has announced that, with the inclusion of the Confederate population in the tax base, a large surplus has been projected. Reconstruction costs will be settled by cuts in military expenditures and some large donations that have been recieved, so they will not take up the surplus. In order to cover this, President Navarone announced an immediate .5% tax cut, effective at the end of the month on all Rebel alligned worlds. Further, since Rebel High Command believes it has more than enough force now to handle the AoE, should that become necessary, so drafts will be decreased somewhat, and with the inclusion of former Confederate worlds, they can make legal draft dodging much easier. For a final announcement, we give you President Navarone, from the Red House."

"Greetings, citizens of the Rebellion. I have come here tonight to flatly rebuff the charges of the AoE that we have been torturing Confederate prisoners since the surrender. The rebellion has not and will not engage in any such activity. The fact is, after the surrender, there were no Confederate prisoners. Of the 138,562 remaining Confederate soldiers, 46,238 have chosen to defect, again lessening our need for new troops, another 62,347 have been sent home to their families, and the remaining 29,977 left our space and are presumed to have joined the AoE. The Rebellion has no Confederate prisoners to torture, and would not if we did. Thank you for your time, and good night."

"Well, that pretty well sums that up, folks. We will not take you to one of our exprt political analysts, Jake Fowler, who will give you his opinions on wjo's telling the truth on this matter."
"Thank you, Bob. Well, past history would seem to suggest that..."

Luke: which Alliance do you hate? The AoE, AoIW, which has still survived from BfS, or both? 😛

    • Didn't the AoIW split up? I thought only 1 third of them were still independent. Ok, I am the AoE. My enemies are the Rebellion, and, the Pirate King if need be.

The Rebellion's broadcast for the most part squelched the lies of the AoE. But, the thought is still there, the doubt is still there. Now, one slip by the Rebellion could result in uprising.

      "Insano sir,"
      "Yes..."
"The aliens have made an attack without our permission."
      "What kind of attack?"
      "Palshife."
      "They're attacking Palshife?!"
"Yes, sir. Palshife's forces have weakened somewhat since the Rebellion captured the core worlds. The aliens have attacked with approximately 150 alien cruisers, all complete with fighter compliment."
"Well, I guess we're going to have to assist them. Send in some of our forces from Pirate's Cove and Ruby."
      "Yes, sir."

You thought Ruby was abandoned didn't you? Well, if it isn't why can I have it? I need some kind of a base.

    • As Admiral Skyblade had not yet left for Pirate's Cove, the Aliens were in for a beating, although they didn't realize it at first. They had to contend with an entire Rebel Sector Fleet, Palshife's defense fleet, and Admiral Skyblade's task force. That came out to 60 Supercruisers and about 200 Mk. II Assault Carriers. Since an Assault Carrier was about equal to an Alien Cruiser in firepower, and Supercruisers were far worse, the Aliens quickly discovered that they were quite hideously outgunned.

Assault Carriers hung back from the enemy Cruisers, and pelted them with torpedo fire from their Firefoxes. Meanwhile, 45 of the Supercruisers moved in an began decimating the Alien Cruisers at close range. The other 15 covered Assault Carriers from the fighters, and were powerful enough that, combined with the Devil Rays, they were able to pick off Alien fighters.

Inasano, I'll give the Aliens a chance to retreat here before I totally wipe them out, but they've already been badly hurt, with at least a third of their Cruisers gone.

    • The Surpent jumped out of hyperspace into nothingness.
      RC"Where are we?"
      "Sir I don't know!"
"Alringht I whant long range and short range scanners working constantly. Also tell the maintnance crew to do some thing about the auto jump system."
      "Yes sir."
"I'll be in my quarters taking a nap and thinking about our plan. If anything, anything, happens I whant you to contact me!"
RC is about to extit the bridge and...
      "Sir?"
      "What!"
"Sir there's something on scaners! It's BIG! Taking up the whole screen!"
"Let me see!.... Holy crap, are those are long range scanners! That thing must be huge! Do you know what it is from the scaners?"
"No! It clasifies it as matter."
"Oh, and I thought it was gonna be vague about this!"
      "Sir, solid matter"
      "Meaning?"
      "I'ts a ship!"....

    • ---The Pirate King of New Antigua hates everyone, but right now I really want to kill the AoE. I sort of like the Rebels, 'cause they hate the AoE, so if there was a Rebel-AoE fight, I would assist the Rebels. I'm not going to do a thing to help the Pirate's Cove station, because they joined the AoE. The AoIW is not what I'm concerned with right now, I thought they split up. If they didn't, oh well, I'll deal with them later.---

The King gawked at the ship. It was amazing. It was white, with a yellow stripe on the side, which could have been decoration, or something else. It was oviod, like an enlongated egg. But it had wings in an ominous delta-shape. The cockpit was situated underneath the front of the ship, instead of above it, like a human ship.
One of the engineers grinned and handed the king a display-board.

"We don't have to design a fighter. It's right here. We even got the blue-prints for it from the ships computer."
"How... where did you find it?" the King asked.
"On Gymkata. It's very old, their species probably died out many millenia ago. We have reason to believe they inhabited much of this galaxy befor the Humans even thought of space travel. Apparently, from the ship's documents, they were a peaceful species who were forced to fight the Aliens-in-Red-Ships. Just like we did, and almost succeded. Now I have a plan. Inside this ship is a vaery advanced holographic emitter. It can fool even a ship's sensors. The Aliens-in-Red-Ships are attacking Palshife right now. The Rebels think they're winning, but from an intercepted Alien-AoE message, we know they are planning to jump in from all sides with a huge ammount of ships. Even the Rebels, with they're combined might, can't over-throw that many ships. (Hint, hint, Macavenger) If we can jump in as soon as the Aliens do, and use this emitter to fool them into thinking there old friends are back. Then they might retreat."
" 'Old friends' ?" the King questoned.
"The Berram. This is one of their fighters. We got the name from their logs. If I'm correct, the Berram would've eliminated the Aliens-in-Red-Ships, if they hadn't all died from some sort of virus that doesn't affect others. If the Red-Ship Aliens think the Berram are back, they wuld panic and leave the Satori system."
The King grinned. "If you can pull that off, I'll give you a raise."

    • Luke - I don't see in Insano's posts any plans for a huge fleet to come in. A fleet, yes, but do you have ~any~ idea how much fleet it would take to overwhelm 60 Rebel Supercruisers by themselves? That goes up by an order of magnitude when you throw in 200 Assault Carrier Mk. IIs. Speaking of, I should probably be working on a Mk. III that uses newer technology. Hmm...

Too bad. The aliens are stronger than you think. If the Rebellion is all-powerful, where's the fun in them fighting anything? They might as well all retire and live in big mansions on Palshife.

    • I'm baaaaaaaaack.

Thanks for the idea Luke. "Insano, this is Ghoram of Alien fleet 241. We have just gotten word that a new alien fleet has just been completed and is on its way. It won't take long as one of the new super transporters* was installed at the shipyard." "Excellent, we are about 30 minutes away. It will be four fleets against one. Hopefully, we will prevail." The four fleets are Alien fleet 241, (which is of moderate size) the pirate fleet from ruby, (fully restocked with super kestrels) the pirate fleet from pirates cove, (also fully restocked with super kestrels), and alien fleet 537 (one of the largest ever made, complete with the new alien supercruiser design). The new supercruiser design gives the ship armor that matches that of a rebel cruiser equipped with tritanium armor. Not much shields have been added, only about 50 units. Fighter, weapon, and seeker drone capacity have been doubled. All ships were fully stocked with weapons, fighters, and seeker drones.

*Super transporter technology gives bases the ability to transport ships to almost anywhere in the galaxy. Ships can be beamed from anywhere in the galaxy to the super transporter array, or anywhere in the galaxy from the transporter array. It does not have the ability to transport a ship from sol to satori for instance if there is not a transporter array in one of the two systems.

    • So, are the Alien fleets armed similar to the Alien Cruisers I'm used to from the game? Also, I take it you aren't retreating. I don't have time to do the next part of the battle right now, but I will in a bit.

Luke, I have a very clear idea of how powerful the Aliens are, and a very clear idea of how powerful my Supercruisers are, because I designed them, have flown them in the game, fought them in the game, and watched them fight in the game. Not having done any of this, I don't think you're qualified to tell me what my ships can and can't do.
