      I so agree that the rapier is the most over rated ship! For its cost it just doesnt cut it.

      The Rapier is in no way overrated or overpriced for that matter. Slightly over 1 million credits for a ship that is comprable to the Corvette, albiet a lot more cramped but also a lot more manuverable, is a more than fair price. As for the Confed Cruiser, it never claimed to be anything but slow, so it isn't overrated in that sense. In addition, in the areas where it does claim superiority, i.e. weaponry, space, shielding, and armor, it is completely justified. Also, getting through Rebel space to buy upgrades on Palshife is not a big deal.

      The Rapier is not comparable to the 'Vette at all. The 'Vette has 2 very useful turret slots, where the Rapier has 1 useless one. The Rapier is barely any more manuverable, easily fixed with an RCS upgrade. And the 'Vette can carry more weapons and much better shields and armor. The civilian fighters in general are a tad overpriced, and I like them much better as escorts.

      But keep in mind that the Rapier's intended role is that of a heavy fighter, and thus depends on cannons rather then turrets. The Crovette is a light warship, so two turret slots is practical.

      The fed cruiser really is way too slow to be considered a good choice, if you compare it with the reb cruiser you see that the rebel is way better. The only way the 'fed cruiser is really deadly is with a good frig cover or with another cruisers.

      The most overrated is the shuttlecraft. Before you cover your screen in spittle from laughter, consider:

      1. NO WEAPONS!
      2. VERY TINY SPACE TO ADD STUFF!
      3. ABYSMAL CARGO BAY!
      4. TINY FUEL TANKS!
      5. NO GOOD ROLE!
        based on that, the shuttle sucks. I'd recommend trading up to a courier as soon as humanly possible.

      How does this make the Shuttle overrated? Has anyone ever tried to claim it does something other than suck, except for a couple of special uses like proving that some mission can in fact be done with it?

      That is why it is the ship you start out with, and that everyone wants to get out of. It can do damage, but is very boring to handle and use. No one ever said the shuttlecraft rocks.

      The most overrated ship is the... drumroll... Atinoda Kestrel Escort Frigate!

      It is terribly expensive and overpriced. Also, its armor and shields are severly lacking, and buying a destroyer or frigate will cost less and provide more. Overall, its only advantages are the speed, RCS, thrust and the lightnings. Otherwise, I would much prefer even a confed frigate.
