    • It's about time for another poll...

      Courier or Scoutship?

      COURIER:
good- more cargo, lots more armor, can fit a turret, larger crew
bad- less space, less shield, can fit 2 less guns, slower (speed), more expensive, less fuel

      SOUTSHIP:
good- opposite of above (i.e. more space, more shield, etc.)
      bad- ditto

So, what do you think is what counts?

      ------------------
      Yeah, you heard me.

    • Courier. I just add a hawk fighter bay in for weapons.

      ------------------

    • Scoutship- very close in stats, half as expensive, and the speed and max 4 cannons more then makes up for the shields and cargo.

    • Scoutship, it fits my playing style better. It's only problem ( imo ) is lining the cannons up on a fighter. And one turret just will not fix that.

But, I do love all that fuel. 🙂

    • Courier. I like to accept all kinds of missions in the early game and store some commodities on top of that. This playing style rakes in the credits steadily enough to get me to a corvette, at which point I assume a more combat-oriented playing style.

    • I'm not a regular here, but I just have to say that it's amazing that after the game has been out for so many years you still find something to do a poll over. I'm not trying to insult the poll, just compliment it.

    • Scoutship.

    • Scoutship. Forty tons of cargo space is excellent for a ship that flies like a fighter. Arm is with four laser cannons, and you've got some serious defense. Compared to the Scoutship, the Courier seems to be more comparable to the Shuttlecraft...

    • I usually go with the scoutship, unless I intend to stick to the core worlds.

Luke brings up a good point (the force is strong with him ;)). Going with a Courier and wandering out into the border worlds is insanity. The Courier is a pathetic ship in terms of defense, though it makes an excellent cargo runner within the core worlds. If you want a blockade runner, go with the Scoutship. If you are willing to risk extra credits on your Scoutship, get some upgrades. Getting past pirate vessels and other enemy governments is no longer a problem...

    • hmmm another poll... 🙂

I would have to go with the scoutship.

It can defend itself better, faster, just better up untill you have enough money for a Corvette. I always use the shoutship for the begginning missions. Its more adaptable.
AND most imnportantly it looks better!
I cant go around the galaxy in the courier, shotship just is i find a better ship to do Ev in.

    • Scoutship.

The Courier just doesn't work for me at all. Luke does have a point, but if I intend to stay in the core worlds, I get a Light Freighter. Not that that happens very often. 😉

So go on the internet game sites and bash all the PC users!

    • If you plan on going anywhere near Rebellion or Pirate territory, get a Scoutship.
      If not, get a Courier.

I like the Scoutship better anyway, however. It has better shields, speed, fighting capability, and weapons space, and is better suited for evading hostiles, such as pirates.

    • I usually get ships in this order: shuttlecraft, scoutship, corvette, and sometimes up to a kestrel. I usually go from 'vette to destroyer.
(if you haven't noticed, my vote is for scoutship). I have flown every ship except the 'fed ships. Even in EVO I use the scoutship (the main difference is the scoutship looks cooler in EVO). It has better defense than the courier, only less space.

I sincerely think that one of the coolest looking ships in EVO is the shuttle.

    • Scoutship? Bluurgh! It's the Courier. By far. For one thing, you can pull a Monty Python with it, and space ain't evreything.

I'll have to go for the courier, the scoutship has ONE advantage, the range and speed. (OK, that's two, but who cares). I take a courier, add two fuel tanks, and do cargo missions until I get something bigger'n better.

    • I like small fast ships that can get me places. When it's time for battle and I'm the one in the small ship it's my tail thrusters you'll see in the distance! Scotship!
