I've played EV for white a while now (2yrs), but only discovered this site a couple of days ago. I've been raeding all the posts here and it sounds every body is totaly in the game. almost every body knows everything about the game. So im wondering how i mesure up to all of you.this is about as far as i got: finished all rebel mishons(i think) , rating in galaxi ultimate ,in control of 7 Rebel Cruisers , have about 350 million credits , captured most planets in the galaxi(even rebel) , heard aboet Pillar of Society rating with rebels , released all rebel planets , cant get higher than god egg , flying around the galaxi destoing confeds/pirets , totaly stumped at this point.sorry about the spelling :redface:

so thats about as far as i got. so please post your progress here and i will learn from the best.(please post stuff here dont make me look like a loner) :redface:

Well welcome to the boards! It's nice having game veterans here. I've done the Rebel strings six or seven times, and the Confederation strings once since I hate them so much...I've played Escape Velocity ever since the month is was released, and lately I've been playing the "Galactic Scourge" plugin. That's as far as I've come... You command seven Rebel cruisers? Wow...

Oooooo! Nice Fleet. Try visiting the plugins page nd get file which, if you pop the in your plugin folder, will give you a whole new set of missions of even galaxy to play wity. (Sorry if you know this but it is a vital piece of info).

hey ive completed all the rebel missions(except the ones that you keep on getting) i have two rebel cruisers two confed cruisers two rebel destroyers and i have a rebel cruiser. i only just started capturing planets, and i have all the confed systems except sol centauri and ruby(the darn ships keep coming back) and many independant systems. im only pillar of society in kathoon. and of course im ultimate. how do you stop the ships from coming back( i tried to capture but had played for two hours and they kept on coming back)well anyway thats it

Me? Well, I never actually stick with a pilot file after doing all the strings, I just start afresh with a new perspective on life! But my best pilot? Well, that would be my current one, which is running for the EV challenge (check the board - there's a topic all about it there).
I have a Rebel Cruiser, fully maxed out, 5 Kestrel Escorts and a Confed frigate. I haven't spent much time going after other cruisers, I just kill them. The Kestrels all launch 2 lightnings, so that's 10 lightnings, all launching missiles, plus 5 Kestrels and a frigate all launching torpedoes at the same guy - Carnage! I have 35million in the bank, and have done all the rebel strings, done the UGE start string (then got thrown out later), plus the Artemis group missions and a load of bounty hunting. Excellent!

I've already read the 30 day chalenge(pretty cool).But real carnage is when i launch my 28 mantas with the firepower of 7 Rebel Cruisers.

i got my 'fed cruiser by capturing it of course. i am now getting 82k credits a day and i have 'bout 52m credits.i haven't been playing ev lately though im playing evo.

Let's see... I'm in a Rebel Cruiser with the best primary weapon firepower in the galaxy! Bwa ha ha ha!!!!! In fact, I 've just recently captured Pegasus without wasting any money on secondary ammunition! I can also lay waste to Cofed Frigates after I dodge their missles and heavies! Same goes for Kestrals (but not their lightnings, they're just too fast)! As for escorts, all I got right now is 1 Shuttlecraft, but for me escorts come and go. I never pay for them, and I don't waste money on missles. But there are still all the independant and confed systems minus two to capture! (Not to mention all the plug-ins!)

I always capture escorts for there looks, and have never gone for the gov. cruisers.

I like to have either 6 Lightnings, 6 Corvettes, 6 Rapiers or 6 Kestrels. Never a
mix, and not really caring about the back-up strength.

7 Rebel cruisers? That's a waste of time. In my Kestrel (or Rebel Destroyer depending
on the pilot) I could waste the Mantas within a few seconds, and then smash through
your escorts. At that point - well, it'd come down to pilot against pilot.

You see, escorts don't really matter. I suppose they are one of the last things to
be proud of in Escape Velocity, but I tend to be proud of my rating in systems and
how well my simulated personality has gotten on.

For example, with Vincent Darkthorne, a Confed supporter in the Kestrel called
Cassius, I am extremely proud of the 6 Kestrels that back it up, as Vincent likes
to have heavy firepower with good speed.

As Kain Lariat in the Rebel Destroyer named Andromeda, 6 Rapiers make a very nice
little fleet.

im also unregistered, but i have over 10m credits! just get tribute from a bunch of systems. i have the rock, south tip station, a zidagar system, and a bunch of voinian systems. i'm in an arada, no escorts, im ultimate(of course). my arada is worth over 3m credits (i bought it for 1m).

How did you get Rebel Cruisers for escorts? If you disabled and captured them, you are a sorry excuse for a Rebel.

HEY HEY HEY!!! I fineshed the missons thank you very much!

But you know how ResEdit works on your mind.(i got a little power hungry, equiped my self with the Forklift, made totaly unstopable cruiser,shield up armor up, missles torpedoes space boms forklift(unlimited), made a fortres out of my cruiser, captured all the planets.

SilverDragon, when my six rebel cruisers(unedited) are showering you with missles and torpedoes my mantas wont be the first of your problems. While the first wave of missles from my mantas is destroying your petty flet, the second wave of missles from the cruisers(which is bigger) will smash you and the rest of your ships, and if it dosent, you will not have time to destroy them because I will be there to finish you off with 4 proton turets and over 100 missles.Believe me I took down 3 to 4 Confed cruisers at the same time and only loosing 3 of my escourts which i can get back very quickly with 500 million credits. To you, escourts might be for show but to me they are quite usefull.Mayde you should get better ships!
