    • Forklift for New Pilot - Help

SEARCH is not working at Ambrosia today: I set up a new pilot "Rustbeard" -- to act out my pirate nature. Doing well with my 'Vette and fleet, but I'd like the forklift. (A pirate with a forklift. It sounds scary/fun.)

The only way I know to get it is the "MCB 4:35AM" thing at start up. Trouble is, my pirate pilot is alphabetically second in my pilot file and the forklift keeps being given to the first pilot.

Is there another way to get the forklift for a particular pilot? Thanks.

Same here...If you ask me, the weapon is basically a cheat, even if it does come with EVO...

    • "Nevermind..."

I think what matters to EV is which pilot one last used. I just tried it again and "Bam!,"
I got the forklift for my pirate.

Moderater, please "zap" this topic. Thanks.

Arrgh! Now ye got me powder lit, Skyblade!

Actually, I USED to share your view. But once while reviewing the FAQs I saw the question, "Are there any cheats in EV?" The answer is -- right there for all to see --
"No." So, having THE WORD from Ambrosia's ivory tower ... I have been persuaded the forklift is not a cheat.

Part of my personal "Code" of playing EV is to not get the forklift until I have at least a "Dangerous" combat rating. This keeps me sharp at dog fighting. (It also gets me killed a lot....)

    • BTW, "Skyblade" is a cool handle. I may just steal it -- er, "borrow it" -- for a future pirate pilot....

Hehehe...Glad you think so. I also like the name Triton Corsair. 🙂 As for the Forklift, I just don't plain like it because it makes the game a little too easy for me, if that makes sense. Challenge is what makes games a blast. 🙂

    • Just remember there's another guy named "Skyblade" on these boards.

I understand. The ubiquitous Defenders buzzing me each time I jump into a system got too
tedious for me. They are not a challenge. They just bore me. So I Fork 'em -- then go
pick a challenging fight with a Confed Frigate or two. (I still generally run from the Cruisers in my 'Vette. In my Rebel Destroyer I'll even take on the big boys.)

    • In EVO did you say that you can get the Forklift without typing in that code?

      Don't know. Don't do EVO.

The forklift is an EASTER EGG- which is simiilar to a cheat, but different. A cheat is something the game companyies put into the game and then "accidentaly" leak so that people who are having trouble with or are bored with the game can get a little "boost." An "Easter Egg" is something the game programmers put in, without the knowledge of the company owners, to make the game do wild and crazy things.

      THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!
      (Lies are in your head.)

    • Well, easteregg or cheat, the forklift is not to be used unless you're a coward.

(One exception: If you have finished all possible mission strings, and have a Rebel Crusier that kicks ass, take the Forklift and dominate the whole galaxy. I tried once, even if all those waves coming out of Earth gets one pretty tired.)

Ah!!! You already equivocate on your absolute (!) statement....

So, we are both Fork users. You merely have a different "Code" than I. It just depends on where one "draws the line, I guess."
