I'm pretty certain that you guys have already done this one, but since I'm new, I'd like to know what yo think is the best ship.I personally vouch for the confed cruiser, but the rebel cruiser is pretty good. Now, we all know that the alien cruiser is the best, but you're probably cheating if you have one. In case anyone is wondering, I mean best ship in the original game, not in plug-ins.

To me, the best ship is the Kestril. I mainly like it because of it's sleek looks, and of course it's nature to be used by pirates and bounty hunters.

I also preferred the Kestrel when I played EV. It was powerful, fast, and agile. Fully upgraded it was quite capable of taking out any other ship, although that could be said about virtually any ship in the game.

I vote for the Rebel Cruiser.it´s my favourite due to the maneuverability(with upgrades),which stands in contrast to its size and strength.with four turrets and enough forward mounted cannons in addition to the secondaries it has a powerful punch,with whitch you can knock off most ships with the 1st attack.and when you swing around for the second(if necessary),your 4 mantas are already in space,waiting for orders.

Now the Maskirovka IPV-1 Corvette is perfect (with a few small modifications)
It's more than twice as fast than the Kestel
In skilled hands (mine) just as powerful
has loads of mass space for my proton guns and torpedos
and 60 tons of cargo space (more than you'll ever need under normal circumstances)
It's the most versatile and effective ship in the game.
The Cruisers are all very powerful, but SLOW.
the small ships are fast, but less powerful

Torps are the best secondary weapon. Power, mass effiency, and range all in one. Yummy! I can take out lots of Defenders and Patrol ships with those babies.

I really like the Rebel Destroyer. I think it's really fast for its size and really powerful aswell. I arm it with loads of torpedos and rockets and kill loads of pirate scum! Hehe, I love bounty hunting.

With a skilled pilot, torps are waayyyy better than missiles. Much more powerful (almost as powerful as rockets), EIGHT times the range... if you point straight at your target, and it's heading straight towards you, the torp should hit it, no matter how small the target is.
