    • e-mailing plugs as an attachement

Namely, is anyone willing to email me an uncompressed plug, or are there any websites
where I can get them? I'm running EV with Executor and supposedly it can't properly
uncompress plugs, though it can run them if uncompressed. I would dearly love to be
able to add some plugs, considering I've only had the game for four days and I'm
already in a Reb cruiser and conquering systems at a massive rate. I'm most
interested in "Mugabi and Destiny," Game Expander, Win the War, and Ships Galore 2.0.
I can get some of the smaller plugs on Mac and fit the unstuffed version on disk, but
the Macs at school don't have CD-R and I don't have a Zip drive on my PC. Any help would
      be greatly appreciated.

If a tree falls in a forest, and no ones around to hear it, does it make a sound?

    • Let's see what plugs I have:

      • Clavius and Beyond (2.4 Mb): Small expansion of the EV universe. I like it.

      • Pale (It says 12.4 Mb): Larger EV expansion. Even better than Clavius.

      • EVGE (7.1 Mb): Huge expansion, well worth the 7 megs.

      • Galactic Scourge (9.4 Mb): Not that great, in my opinion, but you gotta love the intro music)

      • Mugabi and Destiny (12 Mb): Havn't played much of it yet. Sounds good, though.

And the most craptacular plug of all time:

      • Quantumire Trillogy (18.8 Mb! Requires at least 30 Mb RAM. 50-60 Mb Recommended): This plug is downright awful. If you have enough RAM (Big if on older 'puters) the plug still sucks. Even though it's touted as a "total conversion" (Yeah, right), it really only changes the names of things and adds some extra missions and systems. Most of the ships can be considered cheats seeing as they're mostly invincible. Many outfits are also cheats, especially one (I can't remember the name) that requires no ammo, fires super fast, and does reasonable damage over an incredible range! It even brings down some of the 'cheat' ships! Meowx really bombed out on this one.

    • So, Goomeister, are you saying you can email me a plug or two? It would be
much appreciated. I need it uncompressed though, I don't know if that's even
possible. My email is a1368@truman.edu. Let me know if you can help me out.

    • Umm...not a wise idea...

The dataforks get messed up when when they get uploaded without encryption of some sort...

Did you know...macs can Zip files?

      PEACE YO!

    • Well, trying never hurt anyone (Okay, it did hurt a lot of people, but still...). What plugs do you want?

    • Kick as*! I don't even know if you can attach 12 meg files, but hey... How about
Mugabi and Destiny? I like the alien thread. If that doesn't work, maybe you can
upload it to an i-drive account or something.

Or I'll just buckle down and buy a Mac...

Well... wait for Quantumire: Special Edition, coming out sometime soon. Quantumire was a wreck; QSE will be, to put it simply, an amazing plugin.

Note also that Quantumire is circa 1996. That should tell you something about it.

    • While goomeister didn't like it (although many do, see (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/ev_scourge/kudos.html")http://www.geocities...urge/kudos.html(/url) ), you can always send a SASE and a blank CD or zip (or $2) to:

      Dr. Jason Dworkin
      M/S 245-6
      NASA Ames Research Center
      Moffett Field, CA 94035-1000

and get a copy of Galactic Scourge and mailed to you.

    • To Goomeister: sorry, I didn't post my email (if the sending me plugs thing is still
happening). It's a1368@truman.edu. I saw on another thread that you were going to
try it with someone else. Did it work?

To Ionstorm: do you know if I can get GS uncompressed? If not, the whole thing is
      pointless.

To other PC users running Executor: do any of you know how to run any plugs? Even
after uncompressing them from school computers and copying them from disks, executor
      doesn't like them. Suggestions?

By mail, as above the CD has the uncompressed plug-in. You can play it right off the CD if you wish.
