how many of youse guys actually use freighters as your own personal ships?
(and not like a rebel converted argosy, but like a scoutship or a bulk freighter when you have 2 million credits.)

That depends. I have often used a (EVO) Cargo Transporter as a cheap warship. Actual Bulk Freighters, though... No. Although I would certainly use them in the tc I'm working on... So far, however, I only use them insofar as they can be converted into warships.

Once I played with an argosy for awhile just to haul cargo and make a fast buck off of commodities like medical goods, but even with afterburners and cherried out gas tanks i couldn't outrun the slowest torps, and got murdered a bunch. other than that, i can say good things only about miranu freighters, but crescent warships still are more appealing.

i am one of the Meowx design team, yes (the newest, actually). i have been recruited to do some text editing and basic ideas for the upcoming Quantumire SE plug- the whole trilogy is being redone, so if you liked QT, you'll love QSE.
new technologies, the races and governments revised, redone missions, new and redone ships and outfits- the whole thing will put the original trilogy to shame. we are still working hard to get it to get it done though, and we have a long way to go, so it'll be awhile before we release the plug.

because my main activity when I play ev is disable/board/kill pirates, i generally don't use freighters, unless i dont have money for more

I actually created the Rebel Bulk Freighter Warship (exact name escapes me). I did it exactly via plugins, and it was still really bad. You guys think a Confed Cruiser is slow? These things makes them seem like defenders. I also fooled around with the Luxury Liner once, it was fun, but dies way too quicker for its average speed. I personally have never used a light freighter, but I'd figure just trading would get old very, very fast.

Well I don't ever use one in EV cept' the Argosy, but in EVO I always do cuz it is less boring than in EV because there is a lot of good trading routes and cool commodities.(tourists hehe)

i remember using a light freighter a LONG time ago (maybe 3 years), it was the best light freighter of the EV Universe, with maneuverability upgrades, engine, shield, armor, proton cannons and took off almost all the cargo space but then i bought an argosy and i had to sell the light freighter.

YIKES, the only time I would use a frieghter EVER, would be over my dead body. I perfer fire fights with pirates, rebels, confeds, militia, indipendents, merchants, bounty hunters, letheians, cydonians etc etc. KILL EM ALL I SAY!!!!
If you can consider a Confed cruiser with cargo pods, a FREIGHTER, then yes, I use them
