Well, personally I have no objections to cheating, but it completely ruins the flavor and experience of the game. You can't fully appreciate EV until you've tried to to work your way up to the top starting in a mere shuttle.

You shouldn't cheat, it'll ruin your enjoyment of the game, play it through once first then cheat as much as you want.

There are no cheats for this. Mabey one but it sucks. If you REALLY want to cheat, get one of those damn cheat plug-ins, or make your own. I hate cheating in ev. The game is already easy.

I agree that the game is easy but it mightn't be so easy for him because he just got the game and is therefore inexperianced, if he wants to ruin his enjoyment of the game then let him.

Hehehe, the cheats are so much fun. I prefer doing it the hard way though. Working your way up to a good strong and fast ship by honorable means. Try one of the mission strings before you cheat. If you already are cheating, play a mission string without using the plug. You'll find it a lot more gratifying when you win.

Hard way = the easy way
Cheating = the Easiest way
Hardest way = the Hard way
so on and so forth.
Get a plug that makes the ships harder I made one which makes Comp ships more powerful then you. You have a kestrel, but the comps kestrel is better. You can only by the user ships, the comp has a seprate set of ships they use that have more weapons and shielding and are faster. I made the alien cruiser have a Beam turret rather then a front beam. Now THAT is harder :).

everyone's correct, the game is very easy, just time consuming, so don't cheat until you know what the heck you're doing. plus, there are cheats that are ok to use, ie. the warp cheats, 1) doesn't take like half hour to do a system jump :p, 2) can jump as close to the planet as you want
but then again, who am i to say which cheats are alright? i'm the president of the united states, that's who!
