      3sc4p3 V3l0c1ty (nah)

Wild and Kinky With Stars. (well, doesn't contain "E" or "V", but still...)

EV: Whee. (hey, it could work!!)

      EV: trois (pour les françephones)

    • Hmmm....
I'm kinda partial to Eerht Yticolev Epacs

Seriously, I think we'd have to know a little more about the storyline before we could offer any truly inspired names. For example, if the game is about a pitched battle between a ragtag group of freedom fighters and a race of killer pink space bunnies, something like 'EV3: Hares on a Rampage' would be more appropriate than something like 'Lasers of Faith'.

    • Is it just me, or have a bunch of people just escaped from the lunatic asylum?
Just kidding! Heh, Heh! Don't touch me! You are all wonderful people! Just don't come to my house!

On a more serious note, I should like to point out that the previous two EV's didn't have any one, specific, plotline - in fact that was kind of the point. There were, of course, several large, involved, 'main', mission themes, but these were never reflected in the title. My point (I'm getting to it! I'm getting to it!) is that we really don't need to know much about the stories to come up with a good (or demented, as seems to be the case) title.

On that note what do you think of:

      ESCAPE VELOCITY
      Maintained.

Acutally, (I hate to be a nitpicker, but...) EV:Override did have 3 central objectives, being the central plotline.

"Join the Icelandic Coalition -- or be killed!" Someone should understand that.

Okay that's true. But then my point is still more valid, I mean, the title still didn't reflect that, did it?

andrew isn't replying because we already got the answer when me and ColdFusion figured out that it was Escape Velocity: A star that suddenly becomes much brighter and then gradually returns to its original brightness over a period of weeks to years. 😉

Surprised nobody else got that, or if they did they didn't post it..

    • You know, software is like art, and we are just the critics, trying to point out ways to make the art better, but no one ever tells a serious artist what to name their masterpiece. Matt B. is a serious programmer, and I think he and Ambrosia probably already have a very good name for it, and I don't think anyone's going to change their minds. 🙂

If THAT is going to be the new title then by the time we just get through reading the starting screen we will already be
asleep. Sales will plummet and Ambrosia's downfall will be YOUR fault! Of course, we could always abbreviate it to
      EV: ASSBMBGROBPWY but I dunno. . . .

As for Andrew replying I seem to have noticed that he loves to keep us in suspense. It has never occured to him that one day we will all just snap, and then he will be in REALLY BIG trouble. We might force him to keep Hector on his shoulder for a week or something. . . .

Surely you're not implying that Escape Velocity is in some way similar to, say, 'N Sync? If you get what I mean there....... 😉

Heh, but no. But actually, the first two letters are the same (is this some sort of conspiracy? 😉 ). Again, I'm not certain, but this is what I'm thinking...

    • YES! I finally got it! Bwa-ha- ha-ha-Haaaa! I had just forgotten to use a key lobe in my brain that's all! Otherwise I would have understood all immediately. Really.
Anyway, yeah, I might vote for that.

Oh, and yes, there is no doubt that that (and many, many, other things) are conspiracys as well. . . . . .
