I hate to admit it but I can't seem to beat the red/green algae in the pirate string of Oreste. I beat the blue algae easily enough on the previous mission, but nothing I try seems to work on the red/greens. How do I beat them? I've run out of ideas!

All that I do is I pound on all of them that I can. I get a lot of turrets and then I pound them away. They're weaker than crap and if they are mad at you then the kill themselves. You just hammer at them for a while (like 5 mins) and land. If you go to Atropos then accept the mission to kill the alien things and I think that you get either 5 million creds or 1 million. Just hammer at them I think that all that you have to do is kill the ones that you see at the beginning when you "take off"
