A long time ago i was playing EV and at one point in the game 1-3 pirate defenders kept following me from system to system, and the wierd thing is i didnt have a mission. After a while they stopped. Now this was back when i had Ev 1.0.2, now i have 1.0.5 and they are doing it again. Why?

Once, when I had a buggy plugin, their were about a couple couriers following me aroun, system to system. In my opinion, Through away that copy of Ev and download a new one.

If you have a freighter escort, pirates attack you wherever you go. Is that what's happening, or are they only following?

Yeah! Plundering cargo is so much fun with a defender!

But more seriously, if you have no freighters and no missions, the game is probably screwed. Does this happen to new pilots too?
