    • Have ship ideas for a plug-in?


      I have this plug-in called Ambrosia 1.0.0, some of you may have downloaded it. Anyway, the next version, called Ambrosia 1.0.1, will be coming out soon. However, I'm working on new ships for it because Ambrosia 1.0.0 has no new ships. I'm interested in what kind of ships you like. Are there ships that you've always wanted to see in a plug-in?

    • I have thought about a ship called - The Terminator

      It looks like a batwing, it has shields a little heavier than a confed frigate, armor and speed roughly equivalent to that of a rebel detroyer, about 20 tons cargo and 150 tons weapons, about 3-5 proton turrets, torpedoes and heavy rocket launchers, I have not thought about crew size.

      Let me know if you build it!

    • I like your idea biggunn21. However since I'm not so great at making new PICTs, I'm thinking of an alternative.

      Also this does not mean that I won't accept any more new ideas, incase any of you think this means I won't listen to you.

    • An idea that I've been kicking around for a while is a Missle Frigate (similar to the Valkarie from Brood War) it would have minimal close range weaponary (mabey one proton turret) it would be rather slow, and have low shields and armour, but would have like 8 missle racks, and about 80 missles. (I like powerfull ships that still have weaknesses.

      Or like the Missile Frigate in Final Battle that was able to produce them on board so that it could unleash like twenty at a time and do it again about a second later...

      What does the Valkarie look like? That might help me come up with a PICT for it.

    • How about an ordnance resupply ship to give the player extra missiles/torps or whatever... It wouldn't be heavily armoured but would always be accompanied by escorts for its protection.

      Or - how about some small extremely fast ships with minimal offensive capability but with massively powerful missile jammers onboard... they could dart around causing all enemy missles to veer off into fits.

      Or - a ship with the ability to project false decoy images of itself... opponents would waste time and ordnance on these decoys. It would be a great escort. Alternatively, this projection capability would make an interesting weapon for a player.

      Just some thoughts...

      I like that idea. Maybe I'll use it as an outfit (because Ambrosia 1.0.0 has none), and make many different versions of it to suit whichever ship you are in. I might also make an enemy version of these.

    • A plugin that was abandoned in the early stages of thinking it through had this big mean ship that had a ray that could destroy almost anything in a few seconds. But it couldn't turn or move very fast. Sort of like an exaggerated Alien Cruiser.

    • Ambrosia 1.0.1 has been released!! With more systems, some new outfits, and new commodity, Ambrosia 1.0.1 is a great improvement over Ambrosia 1.0.0. Ambrosia 1.0.1 also contains 2 new ships! Called the Terminator and the Missile Frigate! Ambrosia 1.0.1 also has 9 new missions!! You can get it on the addons page.

      Even though I have just released Ambrosia 1.0.1, I will still be accepting new ideas. I will probably use them in the next update for Ambrosia (Ambrosia 1.1.0), or for any other of my plug-ins.
