Get yourself some kick ass escorts - I did this with 5 rebel cruisers.
Fly to the sol System (obviously) - when you arrive instruct your escorts to hold position close to the planet - then fly as far as you can to the edge of the system and stop - then demand tribute from earth and hit C to get your escorts to return to formation - as the earth ships will only attack you and not your escorts, it leaves your escorts to shoot the S**T out of the defending ships while they try to reach you ( which of course they never do) - then leave your computer for about 8 hours while your escorts do the job for you- try going to bed or something guys - this would probably work on any defence fleet provided your escorts are fast enough to take out defending ships before they reach you.

you'd rather sit back and let your escorts do the dirty work? c'mon, join in! proton turrets, neutrons, missles, javellins, bombs, blow sh*t up!! there's only 1800 or so of them...

From what I heard, there are 3176 ships per planet/station/moon in the Sol system...

But don't you enjoy blowing up little innocent ships? I sure do...

I'm probably good enough to dominate Earth with a lot of patience, but I don't try for 2 reasons.

1. There's over 3000 ships, it'd take FOREVER

2. The money you get isn't worth the time......dominating Earth is only good for bragging rights.

Na, I'll let my crowing achievment in EV be taking down the Alien Cruiser in a shuttlecraft......

I did really good on my driver's exam. I knocked down all the cones.

The tactic has merit but is no fun. Get fighter bays and escorts who have them also. That way you can cloud over the system before you attack. When before you do, launch fighters and only piss off one. That way all of your escorts can launch their fighters too. When you do this, you take up the max amount for ships and the defence fleets can't launch. They will send out one ship and after destroying that you should have no problem taking the planet.

The easiest way to use space bombs. Of course they effect you too...

Or you can just open up EV Data in EV-Edit and toy w/ the defense fleet...
