    • This may sound stupid but...

...how exactly do you USE a plug-in? I'm pretty new at this, and wanted to know how to use it when I finish the Rebel Missions. I've already downloaded Satori Station and Galactic Scourge, but I don't know what to do. I suppose you'd put it in the EV Plug-ins folder, but nothing special happens. Could I get some help?

    • First off yes you do put them in the folder. Not both of them at the same time though.

    • If nothing happens when you put Satori Station in, make sure that you have completed the Rebel Alien Crusier missions.

Contrary to what some people seem to believe, there is a difference between stupid and uninformed. Everyone had to learn how to use a computer, play EV, and use EV plug-ins, and one of the ways they learned was by asking questions.

The basic way to use plug-ins is to put the plug-in file Not the folder into the 'EV Plug-ins' folder inside the EV folder. Be sure to read the documents that come with the plug-in so you will know what changes to expect. Some plugs make mjor changes, some only relatively minor ones; some changes may be immediately obvious, others may not show up until you visit a certain system or perform a certain mission. Many large plugs, I believe Galactic Scourge is one, require you to start a new pilot file and start the game over from the beginning in a new "universe", others make changes to the existing "universe" and allow you to continue using your existing pilot.

      Good luck

Although I DID try that and it still didn't work... Hmm, better experiment some more.

Hmmm... well, some large plugs require an increase in the memory allocation for EV, but usually the game won't load at all if there is not enough memory. Also, be sure to read the plug-in's ReadMe so you know what to look for. I haven't seen 'Satori Station', for instance, but what i have read about it indicates that the only obvious change is a station in the Satori system which of course you would not see until you entered that system. Repeat, many plugs make changes that do show in any obvious way, or not until you go to certain places or perform certain actions. Be patient.
