Ok people its challenge time, i want to get the badge for hacking the game server. There are exactly two in the game, you can find the right because the other is owned by the government (suspisious) It has a single password bar line, it is impossible to hack with the pw cracker or the dictionary. We got to hack it the old fashioned way. All I know for certain is it is a mans name that starts with P

There only seems to be one Protovision Game Server, are you talking about one in the real world? Because there's only one Protovision Game Server, if it was owned by the Government in Uplink I'd probably have found it on their Internal Services Machine. What are you talking about?

It's owned by Protovision (at least officially ;)), and it's already been hacked. If you really want to find out the password, then go ahead and do a search, because the password has been mentioned here several times over the many topics on this subject.

Been done. Actually, it starts with a j. Do a web search (like google, not in uplink) for Protovision. It is from a very old movie (I myself have not seen it) and the password is too.

I remember the movie, too, but that was when I was way too young to really notice any details except for the dozens of extra-large tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses on the eastern Atlantic and western Pacific) games playing on autopilot. That and the password in question for some reason.
Saying it out loud in this webboard (and possibly Introversion's, I think) is considered bad form. At least it seems that way to me.

At IV, it's a capital offense. Here, it's not so bad. It's certainly been posted before, and I, at least, have made only weak attempts to censor. Now that this forum is pretty much abandoned, I see no problem with it anymore. Anyone that really wants to know can search for it easy enough. Those that don't can just not.
