Read what I said again... It's not the player's memory banks that are too small, it's the server that must be uploaded to that has too small memory banks. If it is/were the player's memory banks that were too small, it's would just be a matter of hacking into the target server more than once.
And yes, this has happened when there were no other files on the upload-to server.

Hmm... Ok, I'll start one.

For me it was instantaneous. I just checked my mail inbox and both emails were there.

There are no options in that menu even if you are registered.

I agree - a simple error beep would suffice.
I noticed that someone else reported having (url="http://"http://w1.182.telia.com/~u18219788/wierdip.jpg")this(/url) (or something like it) appear in the multimonitor options. I figured out that atleast in my case, the first large number is (2^32)-64 and the second one is (2^32)-88. This is interesting, because my IP adress (locally) is 192.168.1.1: (2^8)-64 = 192 and (2^8)-88 = 168. So I figured that this might be a bug where the byte value of the IP adress is read as a signed 8-bit value and converted into a 32-bit value, making the 32-bit value's first three bytes FFFFFF and not 000000 as they should. Or maybe it's something else entirely and I've just shown what a geek I am recognizing the 32nd power of 2.

So, if I put my mouse over the close box, it says "close this proxy bypasser" no matter what kind of bypasser it is.

Just to add to this a bit. The graphic for the bypass has a pause button in the top left corner, an X to cose in the top right, a P in the lower left, and a red or green ciricle on the lower right. Each bypass (monitor, firewall, proxy) has a P in the lower left corner. I assume it is supposed to be an F for firewall and an M for Monitor, but all have P.

hey Tanis,
I'll go you one better on gripe number five..I went to upgrade from the basic gateway after I detonated my previous. Saw the email stating they were preparing my new gateway (went right for the Trinity). Got excited, bought enough processors to almost max out my Trinity, something like five turbo 200's.
Fast forwarded, cuz I'm impatient like that..then watched all of CPU's get installed before I'd swapped out gateways. Aargghhh! I swapped the processor in the standard gateway five or six times, to the tune of 12K a pop.
That was annoying.

How do you like your Manticore..regular or extra-crispy?
Hey Mr. Bobo,
I'm gonna assume (careful!) that you're just joking here..the game just did everything it's supposed to, unless you had only one violation (or entry) besides parole in GCD.
2 entries (whatever you like) + 1 parole entry (just get the word "parole" in there) + authorize arrest.
FF 3 hrs in game-time and the game does exactly what it's supposed to do..game character is arrested.
Make it interesting, authorize your own arrest, go back in and clear your record before the three hours are up, and see what happens..I'm curious

That's happening with mine, too. I'm using an unregistered version, but after a few hours of working, the very fast button now goes as fast as the fast one, and this is getting annoying.

Xbox-$200. Halo for your Xbox-$30. Watching a Warthog be blown hundreds of feet into the air with a few dozen grenades -Priceless. There are some Covenant you can kill with an Assault Rifle, for everything else, there's the Scorpion.
Strange visual bug. I would seem to be the only one here having this problem.
In as far as I can tell, whenever you click on a new location on the map screen to bounce your signal, the game draws a dotted line from the location that was previously selected to the new location. When I play the game on my computer, the line is drawn from the last selected location to a point somewhere off the top of the screen, both in large and small map mode. I have images showing this but am unsure of how to post them.
Also, I too have been having problems with the game running abyssmally slow, although this is intermittent. Sometimes the game runs at a decent speed, but at other times I will have to click and hold for about a second until the button I'm trying to click lights up.
Finally, my computer: G4 cube, 450 MHz, 384 MB Ram + 385 MB Virtual memory, ATI Rage128Pro video card.
Uplink and Register are crashing on me. They never come up. I get the "Uplink has unexpectedly quit" message.
I've tried deleting the entire uplink directory and re-unstuffing, but got the same error.
The register program has the same problem.
It ran fine for a week.
I don't think this has been mentioned before: when I hit the "Ĺ" key (which is on the opposite side of the "P" key compared to the "O" key - I have a swedish keyboard), the game simply quits/crashes. This happened both while I was playing (I was trying to type "Protovision" and hit it by mistake) and when I tested it on the main menu. (OS X.2.6)

Are you sure this is a glitch? You can move it around, and I'm sure it's pretty important.

Indeed, no glitch, it is essential to be able to pause/start the bypassers, and you can move them like you can log deleters...I dont think they should go away really, no other programs do while they are running

The mouse bouttons dont work. IM running 9.0.4 on an iMAc 350 with 600+megs of mem. The mouse is A logitech optical running tru a apple pro keyboard. The software that enables the multi boutton functions is installed,
If this problem has already been posted here, sorry, but I really don't feel like looking through every crapping post for it.
I have to smash my hand on the mouse to get it to click on something right. This is very annoying. Sometimes it won't click it at all. I'm sure it isn't healthy to smash your mouse. Why does it not click on what you wanted to click until you kill your mouse trying?
It always freezes up on the global screen (at differend times though) and gets all messed up. The first time it was choosing a gateway, the second it was linking up all over the world to confused the opponent.
And it sucks when it freezes, cause your account goes bye-bye.
It's weird, I just got OSX, but it seems like it has a lot of problems. Well, not the system, but the programs I get for it. I've had problems with Safari, Uplink, printing...The system seems stable but I'm not sure if the programs are...
Anyway, yeah. Great. Now my mouse creaks whenever I click because I had to smash it to get something to work.

My games: (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/pfbgames/")site(/url)
MAJOR BUG: When playing in OSX 10.1.5 Uplink will always crash. The game doesn't crash, it freezes my entire computer and requires a hard reboot. The game works fine in OS 9.2.2.
At first it seemed to crash at random during the second tutorial, but after playing the game in OS9 and trying 6 or 7 times in OSX I have found the cause of the crash. It will crash when using the Trace tracker and the Password Breaker at the same time in OS 10.1.5. I discovered this when I finally managed to complete the Test Mission by not using the trace tracker. Password Breaker and Trace Tracker will not cause the crash by themselves, only when used together.
Another bug: In OS 9.2.2 my Wacom tablet does not work properly, but works fine in OS 10.1.5 for some reason. In OS 9 I can move the pointer but it does not seem to register when I click on a button in the game. I'm forced to use my crappy Apple puck mouse.
G4 400/640MB RAM/Radeon 8500/OS 10.1.5
I downloaded Uplink today, ran it, and got all the way to the options screen. I was initially puzzled by Uplink's 'About Us' screen, but I proceeded by hitting return, as clicking had no effect. In the next screen I attempted registering as an agent but, of course, clicking didn't work. I checked the FAQ for system requirements. My CarbonLib was v1.5, so I downloaded 1.6, but to no effect. Exactly the same thing happened. G3 400MHz CD-ROM iMac, MacOS 9.0.4, 320MB RAM, ATI Rage 128VR. DrawSprocket, OpenGL and CarbonLib all fit the sys requirements. My mouse is a Kensington three-button optical mouse, if that matters. Is there something I'm missing?
