Ok, I've been playing Uplink for awhile now, and have lost several users to bank hacks. But one thing has been troubling me, and I've recently gotten internet access back so I can finally post this. Why do they post missions so that you can see them when they require a higher rank than what you have? I've found many missions that require a rank one level higher than what I have (i.e. I'd be Beginner, and it would require Novice). Why show these when you can't get them?

They don't let you auto-accept, but if you contact them you can still try them.

I may misunderstand your question but, if your rank is high enough you only need to contact the employer. The contact button is either right above or below the accept button. Then, just click "ok, I accept". Or, am I being too literal and your just posing food for thought?

I think so you can get more money to go faster and better prepare for harder missions when they come.

Well, it might help to delete your logs (it's a good idea to use InterNIC as your first bounce because of its easy admin access). It is important to note that banks have the fastest passive traces in the game, so be extremely careful.

Hmm...
I have never been turned away from a mission with too high a rank when I click 'contact'. But I haven't got very far so it may just be something that happens early on in the game.

Well if you contact the people then most likely you are to be accepted for the mission.
They need a person to hire and if your rank is off just a tad then it is no biggy.
as long as you get the job is how i see it
oh and if you want to get all the money in advance and they refuse, then say no thanks and contact them again and ask for it all again, they will say ok eventually it may take a while though.X|
