I have accepted two missions where I am required to erase a companies entire memory banks, and all the backups. I have erased everything I can on the internal services machine and the mainframe but am still being told I have not accomplished the mission when I reply. What am I missing? Am i supposed to ack into the LAN and delete anything ther too? If so, I will not be able to complete these missions for a long time, because I have nowhere near the financial ability to purchase the software needed for hacking a LAN (as far aas I can tell.)

In order to fully erase a company's computer, you must go into the console area. Then type the following:

1. cd usr
2. delete
3. cd sys
4. delete
5. shutdown

After you type in the above, you must wait until the console finishes trying to reboot up and fails, then you will have erased the entire computer and you will have completed the mission.

does it say destroy? And what links were included with the mission?

If it says to destroy it, go into the console and type:
cd sys
del
cd usr
del
cd log
del
shutdown

The order does not matter.

errr... thanks again. Strangely there was a long delay between my accomplishing the mission and them being willing to acknowledge it.

Yeah thats because the company you're working for (and all the companies) are just too damn lazy to actually contact the other company. So instead they just read the news and won't acknowledge your success untill it comes out on the news server.

You can find that server at the uplink website so you can see your own handywork. It takes several hours for it to show up.
