Hey, I just started playing this game. I'm doing the mission where you hack Automated Technology and are employed by Diagnostic. They ask you to delete every file on the server. However, there is one file, 0 gigaquads, that i cannot delete. I open up file-deleter, and click on it, and the file stays there. It's quite annoying.

What was the mission name? Did they ask you to delete the database? I think they meant to break into the console, and type "cd usr", and then "delete", which will delete every file by itself.

Thanks for the welcome, I used to be on the Coldstone Boards as Nyros, if anyone remembers me.

So I just tried what you said. It worked, everything was deleted, including my logs at InterNIC, but then Uplink e-mailed saying they wouldn't tolerate failure, I was lowered to 'Confident' and my employers said they hadn't heard word of my success yet. I remembered reading somewhere else on the boards that if they hadn't heard word of my success, I wait until it shows up in the news, so I went to the news board, went on triple speed, and was caught shortly afterwards for hacking into Automated Tech. I have a backup, so I'll try it again. But I'm not sure what went wrong.

Did you use log deleter v.4?

I always use log deleter 4, bounced off InterNIC or whatever it's called. I think it may be because I deleted my connection established logs, though i've stopped doing that now. it's not too important anymore, because my backup is before I accepted the mission, so i'm doing something different now anyway. thanks though!
