I got caught when I was deleting a file and received a 1000 fine.
How do I pay this, do I have to get a loan from the company bank or is there a way to
tranfer from my funds? Anyway, where are my funds, in a bank?

What you need to do is to click on the $ button to bring up your financial state and (double?) click on the first item in the list. That will connect you to the Uplink International Bank, and log in. Then click on the "Transfer" menu item, enter the data in the mission description information, and send the funds. IIRC - it was a long time since I was caught.

Those instructions are quite right, with the omission of what to do next:

Save the email with the bank IP and account number for later and, when you have the equipment+software, steal the money back. Interest too
