As for deleting accounts, on some servers, like the Academic Database, even if it doesn't trace you more than 10%, and it doesn't say the account has been revoked, the admin account still changes every time. It has for me, at least.
The save feature doesn't really help much for me, really. It can only save one record of bounces at a time, and if you log out, you lose that save. I only use it for hacks that I know I'll have to log in more than once for.
As for the original questions... well, I haven't found a really good way to tell how many bounces you need. I usually just go through all the servers I have on the map, and it always works, though it does get tedious. However, real hacking can get quite tedious as well. Um, or so I've heard, of course...
