Hey there, got a couple newbie-ish questions that I'm knocking my head against the wall over, and feel this is the best placeto ask 'em...

First, how do I delete logs? I know I should access the first bounce (InterNIC for me) and delete them, but how do I gain admin access to InterNIC to delete them in the first place?

Second, what is this console thing everybody's talking about? How do I access it?

Third, how do LANs in uplink work?

And, um, why is the IRC client 4000 credits?

1. Logs are deleted with a Log Deleter (oddly enough ;)) and to delete them at InterNIC simply connect to InterNIC (through the world map as normal) and select admin in the menu. Then just hack the password with the Password Breaker. From there you can select "Access Logs" and then delete the appropriate logs (all accept the Connect one).

2. The console is the text input/command prompt on servers. It is accessed under the admin section of some servers. It is needed for some of the higher level hacks (it lets you delete the sys directory).

3. LANs are just servers strung together and are hacked in much the same way. To view then connect to one and then open the LAN View utility (box at bottom of screen if you have purchased it).

Ahhh...
you see, I was unwilling to try connecting directly to InterNIC because I feared they had a monitor system.

Don't worry. The nicest thing about InterNIC is that they will NEVER trace you or change their pasword.

However, the password is randomized. It's really nice if it's an easy thing to remember - then, you don't need to bother with hacking or memorizing a string of letters. One time I got "plasmids." Really easy. My current game is "jtqtnett." Grrr....
