To hack into a bank to check the size of someones loan, can you just use firewall/proxy disable and tehn password cracker? or do you have to go the whole admin route?

Brute force. Hmmm
Firewall/Proxy disable is overkill for checking the size of someone's loan, especially since you won't be changing any files (firewall) or logs (proxy). Thus firewall/proxy disable is useless for checking a loan.
What you can do for checking a loan is to use a Monitor Bypass (with HUD ConnectionAnalysis) on the monitor of the bank. Then, you can use the cracker on the account and the bank shouldn't be (actively) tracing you. Log in, get the info, log out. As a good security measure, you should have bounced around a couple of admin-access servers (and InterNIC 
) and delete the logs after you.

On the subject of hacking banks, how do you transfer funds from one account to another? The missions don't give you an account number or IP address to transfer the funds to.

They should. All of the bank transfer hacks I've done have specified the recipient.

All of mine simply say "Transfer all of his funds to us", with no other information (but I did find the IP address). Still can't see any other Account Numbers.
By the way, it appears that I need the top Proxy-Bypass to transfer funds; however, I have no missions left and not enough money to get the highest version. Any other way for a guy to make 20000 credits fast?

You could
A.-Speed up time until easier missions show (thats what I did)
B- Take out loans
C- Play the Stockmarket

Remember to repay them loans if you take loans. And the interest's not that nice on them either. Oh well. Time forward is IMO the best way.

If you are in desperate need, take some missions and ask for all the money now, then finish them at a later date. Do not abort them unless you want to wreck your rating.

Once you are capable of it, hack into a bank and write down a bunch of logins and pws. Then check them and sooner or later you'll come upon one with around a million credits (I found one w/ 800k). Voila, no more $ problems for the rest of the game.

Yes, that is the easiest way. As long as you know the person's acct. #, although
proxy and firewall BYPASS are WAY better if you can get them

Take a "trace ballance transfer" mission. The person usualy transfered a LOT of money at least several 100k. once you have the recipients account # and bank IP, you can hack their account. Then transfer that money to one of your own accounts, and then delete the logs.
