      Pretty neat, huh?

Sorry, I have nothing better to do.

    • Ahh, the HECTOR... answering the age-old question of what we would look like if our knees bent the other way.

I hadn't read that in ages. Of course, it's no surprise that it would be forgotten... like everything else related to Avara... Now, I wonder how long this topic will take to degenerate into a rant about Megaservers or plea for Avara 2? Wagers, anyone?

    • That's what the last topic's for.

At least we finally know what Avara is about. The thing I don't understand is why people would always write stories about pilots hopping into thier HECTORs and having epic deathmatches with other clans when it is distinctly stated in the Avara manual that HECTORs are only two meters tall. They don't carry human pilots. They are controlled by people from a remote base station. Uh, duh.

    • What I dont understand is why people would write stories about Avara in the first place. I'd love to be able to imagine a time where people cared about Avara so much that they'd write stories about it when they weren't actually playing. People don't even play anymore, it's so sad. I still wonder why people don't go out of their way to promote Avara anymore.

...Oh that's right, cause Ambrosia shuts down stuff like that, i.e. the Megaserver.

      (JUST KEEEEEDING!)

Well, duh, that's because there needs to be a huge mutliplayer open source Avara 2 using the Unreal Tournament engine! I think that would be really cool, and I'm going to help code it, except I don't know anything about computer programing. (is the dryness getting a bit out of hand? At least I deleted my comment about a MMORPG3D EV4... 🙂 )

Anyhow, it seems to me that the stories reflect more the way people play than the way the game is "supposed" to work.
