At any rate, I don't think I'd mind too much. They'd be good during the middle, at least.

Well, I added a fade out at the end so they didn't. The question is, what you you people want?

    • -'ve heard that there is some way to convert MODs to MP3s, but I've never seen
any application or anything that does it... Perhaps you could just tell us how you do it, Firebird?

Okay, I believe you can use Soundjam's MP3 encoder to encode MODs, XMs, and ITs into Mp3s. If not, you could use Ambrosia's own Snapz Pro to capture audio being played from whatever mod player you use (MacMikMod actually has the best sound quality imho) and then convert that to MP3.

    • What's all the fuss about making the MODs into MP3s anyway??? Is it such a problem to listen to them as MODs?? The quality of the music is diminished when its format is changed, anyway.

If the trouble is that you can't find a player for the MODs, I already posted a couple, but here they are again:

    • iTunes > those you listed.

    • Indeed, but iTunes is also the only app I've seen that can successfully crash any computer running any Mac OS...

    • tssst, all I did was copy the MAHD files to a new file, in the data fork and as a resorce with resorcerer, saved them and they instantly got Quick Time icons, dbbl clicked both and they worked (I love looping!).

    • looks like this topic has been dug up from the grave several times...
On a lighter note this was back when all the mods had to speak in pig latin for a day. Good times. ๐Ÿ˜„
edit: to add something to my post... the addon files work fine for me...

    • I agree with Gravian. It only took me about five minutes to devise a method of extracting the MADHs from the Music file. The data in the resources represent the data forks of the music files. I used Resorcerer as well.

For 'converting' them to MP3s, you can export the MADH as an AIFF and then encode with any reasonable encoder, depending on what MADH player you use. PlayerPro (www.quadmation.net) was released as freeware quite recently, and it is rather good.

    • Now now, we've all gone gravedigging now and again, ususally due to searching and forgetting they are old topics... after all, it isn't really too easy to see that little date on the top of the post, is it?

And plus this place needs all the action it can get, even pointless replies to threads that are long dead. ๐Ÿ™‚

When I posted there I was helping someone out with a problem, which is kind of different.
