    • Tile Defines

This is going to sound crazy, but just bear with me.

How do I make a tile be something else?
As in, how can I define (for example) the floor tile to be the ceiling tile? How do I define acid so that it acts like water? How do I define the ziridium liquid so that it acts like nothing (empty space)?

That game said it needed OS Eight or better, but it wouldn't work on Windows NINETY-eight... I wonder why?

From the tiles menu, there's something that says "define BG tiles" and "define FG tiles". Well, you can see which one is set to which, by viewing what they are set to in Ben's levels. Ex. water is 200, Acid is 201, Lava is 202, Ziridium brine is 203 and quicksand is 205. Floor is 0. Ceiling is 1 and so on! See what I mean?

    • Trouble is, tile redefines rarely work the way you want them to. Redefining water to act like acid, for instance, ends up giving the body of water a greenish tint around the edge.

    • You can just turn off tinting to solve that, can't you?

Besides, I just want "acid" to act like nothing. Is that possible?

Yep. 😄 Just set the acid to "-1"

    • Turning off tinting would, again, make it look weird, as if water were part of the ground or something. I dunno, make a snapshot and show me how it comes out.

    • Or you could make an overylay tile of the acid.

Then Ferazel would look like he was behind the acid... this could be good, or bad...
Just a quick question, do Sprites appear in front of Overlay Tiles, I think I read somewhere the do... but I'm not sure... If they don't , you could put death powerups everywhere behind the Overlay Tiles... that way the acid would appear to kill Ferazel...

No, they don't. The only reason that sprites are behind the overlay tiles in H-passages, is because the H-passages do that themselves.

    • I know exactly what you're thinking, and I thought of it months ago. But my productive self executes ideas so well, that I'll get it done several years before the earth is dragged reluctantly into the centre of a ravagine Sun prior to the end of the Solar System as we know it.

Well there's a level (Well there will soon be a level) in Malcolm's World that is like the Goblin sewers, with acid everywhere and uneven ground and those slime monster things. I think I'll have acid, with acid Overlay tiles and Death Powerups behing them so you go in the acid, Ferazel makes that weird noise and then... well, dies. 🙂
BTW, are you still beta testing for me? :frown: I miss bug reports! :frown:
