    • It's for dialogue pictures. You know how in the Dialog action there's a "Picture" box? Well, the pictures in the event folder are the ones you can choose from.

    • I use them all the time.

Open up the dialogue window, and on the left will show the pics that's in the events/pics folder. For instance, I have road signs all over my world maps. I make signs as NPCs. The Player goes up to a sign and hits it, up pops a picture (player contact), instead of the usual dialogue interface. The Player simply clicks on it to close it. He can't read the little sign on the map, but he can read the road sign that pops up as a pic. No need for globals. Slick.

    • How much longer until your game comes out, Debra? Just curious. 🙂

I'm hoping it to be beta tested by October, if not sooner. I have only five more maps of the "world" to make now. (Yay!) My world maps are quite detailed as one aspect of this game is discovery. Players go uphill, Players go downhill, waterfalls are facing north as well as south, roads, towns, farms, etc. The capital of the realm has a castle on top of a hill. I'm also putting in some events as I go along, especially the game-wide events, which are huge. The main story lines are nearly finished, but not yet implemented. After the "world" maps, I'll be making a lot of interior maps, but those will be much easier to make. I can "clone" some of the interiors (like inns and taverns) and change the pics around a bit. And, to my unending delight, I have a partner who is helping me make my game. He sends me specific ideas for specific aspects of the game, and I make the graphics and make it work in the game. He's saving me a LOT of time, and it's fun to connect to someone about my game and what it's all about.

I have four beta testers now outside of people here indicating interest. One is a 60 year old philosophy professor!!! I am meticulously testing my game as I make it.

Sorry this is so long. Ya got me started! Geez, I DREAM about this game!!!!

    • Drools Hope you release a demo soon.

Looks like this year is gonna be THE year for CS games. Especially big CS games. Legends should be out this summer (or at least at beta), the prelude of Dark Tides is due out soon and now Debra's game should be beta in autumn. And the way you talk about them it seems like your spending all your free time on them.

Well I can add a 4th game to those. I am hoping to have a demo of Space out before Christmas.

I'm glad to hear that we will be seeing your game out this year. From what you've said and what I've heard it looks like this will be an excellent game. I hope to play it soon. I am hoping that all these new game releases this year will bring many more people to the Coldstone community.
