    • Registration Code for Installation on OS X DEMO

Who wants to do a bit of hacking (into my "secure" program), eh? I've (hopefully) perfected my installation mechanism and it should run fine without any of you being able to exploit any security problems... So....

I'd like all of you Mac OS X users to download the installer for one of my programs (the program is freeware, but you can get a much better word counter on versiontracker.com...) and try hack into it (against my security measures...). For those that don't know, you can access the package contents by ctrl-click -> Show Contents. Hint: If you can modify the InstallationCheck file in the Resources directory so it has no contents (i.e. it's an empty file) that would work. However, I find that if you change it's permissions then the package won't work. Anyway, go ahead and see how you do. If you get stuck and would like to just install the package then the code is "abc-123".

      You can download it here.

Good luck on breaking in (well I should say bad luck... If you can't break then in it worked!) 🙂

P.S. When you actually try to install it (non-hacking), then you must either run it from the DMG disk or the computer with the DMG mounted

EDIT: I hope it sounds less like a hacking utility now 😉

Sorry to cause you chaos......CI-Ia0s, but I can't seem to download the program. Is there a broken link?

    • Chaos, it sounds like you've made an illegal hacking program for people to use in order to get into (hack into) a program like a game and consequently not pay for it.

I DON'T think you meant it that way.

I think you may have made a program for OSX in order to secure our games so that people CAN'T hack into them. And you want to get people to try it out by trying to hack into it.

Immediate clarification is needed, please, my friend.

    • Debra: I added some paentheses and changed some words. How's that?

As for the link, it should work... Try this:

    • Yes I'm double-posting... However this post topic and previous one are different, I think it makes sense this way.

I have updated the application and it now supports "name-must-relate-to-code" setup, so the name you should use is:
      test
      and the code is:
      560186-5806

If you download it, then just check how everything works (and make sure it does work!) and give a status report here if you hit any errors (won't install etc.). You need to log in as an admin/root for it to install.

(You don't have to try hacking in now, I've got some UNIX dudes at osxfaq.com forums working on that 😉 )
