Hi. This week we (in the iChat channel) have talked a lot about having a contest for coldstone games. Now, thanks to Ell' we have a site! If you wich to enter the contest there are some rules we have made:

•Absolutely no; offensive, derrogatory, stereotypical, hateful, profane, lewd/adult, or otherwise innappropriate themes.

•All final entries must be under 15mb when compressed.

•All final entries must be submitted, functioning link to downloadable file, by 12:00am GMT Wednesday, January 28th 2004.

•All artwork (NPC/Player sprites, tiles, maps ) must be 100% original, no prefabricated art. This however, does NOT extend to fonts used as; text effects, animated titles, or interfaces.

•No commercial sound or music files may be used.

•All entries must be, Macintosh Carbon/OS X. Meaning run under Mac OS 8.1-9.x ( with CarbonLib ) and Mac OS X. windows support is optional.

•All entries must be in English by default. Support for other languages is welcomed but entirely optional.

•Entries may be developed by an individual or team. Team members must be listed in game and on the game's entrance page

•All entries must include a description which is beetween a minimum of 50 words and may not exceed a maximum of 100 words.

And, ofcourse, all the entries must be made in coldstone :). If you wich to enter the contest, head over to showcase.ellrx.com!

So, when you say that no prefabricated art, does that mean you can't use the included CS art thats on the disk?

You can however use pre made sounds, as long as they are not commercial sounds ie that you have to buy. For anyone who wants help in making their own sounds and graphics, Issue 2 of the CRC Mag will be a CGE Showcase and Audio creation special, with tutorials on making sound FX's, Music and graphics as well as reviews of several sound apps. I will also be giving my judgement on all the entries to the Showcase as well as giving the marks out of 5 for originality, graphics, sound, gameplay and how addictive they are.
