When casting a spell for the first time in a map there is a huge lag then the spell is casted. How do I stop this lag?

For one thing, try not associating a sound and/or graphic with the spell - my best guess is that loading one or both of those on the fly is what causes the lag. Try leaving one out, then the other, then both, and see how the lag is affected.

There is no lag without the grafics and sound but fireball will never hit anything without a grafic.
